First grow ever. Pan Cincts
    #21960309 - 07/18/15 12:12 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

So this is my first grow ever! I did some research and attempted to grow some of these potent pan cincts I picked and ate. I used 1 fresh mushroom and their spore prints in the old horse manure + straw. Placed it all in a coffee can and bam. Tons of pins visible and fruiting.

Now for some questions! I obviously cannot see if its fully colonized due to the fact ots in a coffee can but the cake seems pretty sturdy... Should I take it out or give it a few days?

Last question! Do you think 90-100 percent humidity is appropriate for pans? Thanks, and enjoy the pictures.

Looks like you got EXTREMELY lucky haha. Is any of that pasteurized? Good job, I guess! I would say leave it in the can,
don't fix what isn't broken right?

If it's fruiting the way it is, let it do it's thing and get some fruits before it contams.

Nope, nada. My friends the one who told me you don't need to do anything fancy to them. He swears the can eat and survive contaminations... they do grow in shit. Its nothing but old horse dung and straw compost.

Eat contamination?

:justno:

It might take it over, but the contamination will always be there. Also in my experience, if it isn't clean, you're not even going to get half the yield you could have. Pan cincts are actually really hardy. They love fae and can survive some harsh conditions.

Interesting, thanks for the info. Well maybe thats why he never had or thought he had a contams. So its impossible for it to eat mostly all contams?

It'll always be there. Hiding, waiting until the mycelium has weakened enough for it to strike. Like a ninja waiting in the night.

Fresh air exchange.

90-100% humidity is perfectly optimal.  Remember, its at the substrate level that matters.  If your fc has 80-85%RH, the surface of that pot will be significantly higher. I believe youll get better results with a thin casing.  Nice job

Thanks for the info. Tomorrow ill post more photos. The are getting pretty thick stems... They grow so fast o_O

Ran onto a problem. Came home from work to find one of the shrooms split up the stem. What causes this? Should I pull or will it keep growing. Heres the other one as well.

I think the rapid growth caused it plus the sun, When I came home the shrooms were facing towards the window.
