24 Hour party People- True story and it a fucking awesome Must Watch this :thumbup:

Almost Famous- good film worth a watch :rockon:

Can't think of the name but it came out in the early 90s I think, and was about that Mexican American singer that was really good.

He died on a plane with Buddy Holly.

that's in my top 10 favorite movies for sure.

Dig is a good documentary about the Brian Jonestown Massacre, worth a watch. No Direction Home is another documentary I'm fond of. The Song Remains the Same and Live at Pompeii are both obviously classic concert films.

If you're into early West Coast punk/hardcore The Decline of Western Civilization is a cool documentary.

I just watched the film Be Here to Love Me, a documentary about Townes Van Zandt. Not really rock and roll per se but he's one of the greatest songwriters who ever lived and it's worth a watch if you like his music.

Sadly I'm not as well versed in these films as I should be, but hopefully something here should pique your interest.

Muscle Shoals - definite must watch.

This podunk little studio in bumble fuck alabama has produced a lot of the world's finest rock music and it's all about first hand accounts(and interviews with people like aretha franklin, keith richards and mick jagger etc etc). It's on netflix.

I loved Dig. I'm a fan of both the Dandy warhols and brian jonestown massace, anton is so fascinatingly troubled but a musical genius. And the Dandy Warhols, I think, are one of the best bands out there today when it comes to the ability to write good songs that appeal to the masses, while still being kind of out there(modest mouse is another one of those bands too, but I digress)
