even more interesting if all the transgenders had to still have a penis, but keep it tucked the entire time, an entire game, running up and down the court, tucked, dam that would be fun to watch

Probably has high testosterone levels naturally. A good example of why it is silly to keep trans women with their total absence of testosterone out of women's league over their supposed unfair advantage, meanwhile this chick has a bigger adam's apple than most men.

I think there's a clear advantage from the dunks and blocks I've seen. Here's some of her stats from college. Career Statistics: 3,283 points, 1,305 rebounds, 748 blocks, 18 dunks, .569 field goal percentage Record at Baylor - 135-15 (.900); Big 12 Record - 60-8 (.882). 748 blocks is insane, and that's a dude against chicks type of comparison.

Do you think a trans woman (born with male biological sex but transitioned to woman as an adult ) should be allowed to fight against non- trans women in the UFC/MMA?

Yes. Apparently the UFC agrees with me on this one, too.
Also, if you'd like to avoid offense, the proper term for "non trans women" is "cis women". I know you prefer to use more words than fewer, but try to make an exception for this in the future.

What exactly is the meaning of "cis"?
Is it an acronym ? Why is cis the appropriate term ?
Have you ever heard any of Joe Rogan's many rants about this issue ?
And why do you think someone who transitioned to female as an adult should be allowed to fight cis women in UFC?
would going through puberty as a male not convey combat advantages over cis women ?

It is a prefix which means "on this side". It is the counterpart of "trans", which means "on the other side". I am surprised you are not familiar with this basic nomenclature. It is used in everything from geography to chemistry.

Testosterone is the hormone responsible for building and maintaining muscle mass. Anabolic steroids are actually just different forms of testosterone.
Trans women, as part of medical transition, take testosterone blockers, which tend to have the effect of decreasing our testosterone levels to a point below the female average. If anything, it is the other women in the league who have an unfair advantage over Fallon Fox, but the UFC is right to accommodate her desire to fight in the women's league.

But my understanding is that hormones like testosterone have irreversible effects . So she would have had more testosterone during Her formative years then Her cis female competitors, would that not have lingering advantageous effects even with her taking testosterone blockers now ?
In other words wouldn't she have developed totally differently from cis females during puberty with the result of permanent differences that provide a combat advantage ?
And if she chose to not take those blockers , would she still be allowed to compete with cis women ?

You are mistaken. If this was the case, trans women would not take testosterone blockers.

Skeletal developments undertaken during puberty tend to be only partially reversible, but they are not greater than the natural variation within the cis female population.
The addition of muscle mass is completely reversible. Fallon Fox transitioned ten years ago, there is no way her present musculature bears any resemblance or reflection of its pre-transition norms and capacity.
Quote:

No.

I don't know. Ask the UFC. I actually think she has had SRS, so she probably doesn't have to take testosterone blockers because she doesn't have testes in the first place.

from his incessant ramblings on drugs to his views on trans women fighting, I have never believed the bullshit of women being the weaker sex, sure, some women are weak but so are some men and having seen women compete against men in many sports I believe they are equal to men in both strength and skill, their actual physical differences can in fact play to their advantage even with less strength than men so in reality, a trans woman isnt going to have an easy time in the ring

When you say "no if that were the case trans women would not take testosterone blockers " that appears to be contradictory and make no sense.
Testosterone does have irreversible effects , it says so in the documentary I posted in the other thread. I would imagine that is part of why trans women take blockers, to prevent those testosterone induced changes which has irreversible outcomes , from occurring in the first place.
I think maybe you mis read or mis spoke or something because what you said there does not appear to make sense . What am I missing here ?

How is that contradictory? We take testosterone blockers because they stop testosterone from working throughout our bodies and eventually shut down testosterone production at the gonads, leading to a massive drop in serum levels of testosterone and the loss or mitigation of male secondary sex characteristics. What are you not understanding here?

Bone structure is actually the only irreversible effect that I can think of. I am sure that your documentary oversimplified most or all of the biochemical aspects of hormone replacement.

You aren't sure of anything about a documentary you can't be bothered to watch.
Throughout the documentary several different doctors unequivocally tell children and their families who are considering hormone treatments (testosterone included ) that this will have irreversible effects.
And bone density and bone structure are exactly what joe rogan is talking about when he says she has an unfair advantage .

The page you linked directly contradicts your argument and directly supports joe Rogan's by saying hormone treatments don't reverse puberty meaning because she went through puberty as a male she has an advantage over cis females that hormone treatments don't reverse.

She lost one fight a couple of years ago. If it goes to the ground the body mass is not so much an advantage. She lost when it went to the ground. Go to 1:45 in the vid.

If I changed into a woman today and had my dick cut off and went into the ring your telling me it's fair that I fight woman in the UFC? Negitive, sir. I'm a big dude and cutting some hormones isn't going to make me shrink down that much. It does matter, if you say it doesn't it's because your already the size of a woman.

I am pretty sure that reducing your testosterone count by 99% would soften you up considerably.

I bet it would, but how long would it take? It would take atleast a year. So I could rain champion for a year and no one would mind?

actually i am doing what Prisoner told me to do. report.
so that's what i'm doing. if i can't say what i want without other people reporting me, then i think maybe i should point out the ACTUALLY OBVIOUS attempts at flaming and trolling. my 75 ban points says "i'm not as whiny as you think", but wtf do you know.

Probably a year or two, yeah. Fallon transitioned ten years ago.
AFAIK, the UFC decided to let her stay in the women's league based on specific input from the scientific and medical communities. I doubt that they would permit somebody in the situation you describe.

Is this the case? I used to follow MMA heavily and also listen to the JRE occasionally but I was not aware of this. She is not signed to the UFC nor has she ever participated in any event to my knowledge.
The only information I could find regarding the issue was this statement from Dana White, UFC's president:
“Bone structure is different, hands are bigger, jaw is bigger, everything is bigger,” White said. “I don’t believe in it. I don’t think someone who used to be a man and became a woman should be able to fight a woman.”
I honestly don't have an opinion on the issue but find it endlessly fascinating.

Well damn, I guess my ignorance is showing. I actually don't follow MMA at all and I could give about two shits if not for then fact that I believe it is fair to let trans women compete athletically as women.
How does a big jaw make it unfair for her to compete? Is biting allowed in MMA?

You get punched in the jaw a lot. Most knockouts are from being punched in the jaw

Here's your transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox. Ronda wont fight her cause she used to be a dude..

I was saying RR should be the only woman transsexuals should be allowed to fight (she would murder FF).

Just because she doesn't win all her fights does not mean she doesn't have an unfair advantage .
Someone taking steroids might still lose occasionally but they still have an unfair advantage .
Honestly everything joe has said about the issue is totally accurate . A post transition trans woman is not the same physiologically as a cis woman and they have unfair advantages as a result of bone structure and other factors resulting from going through puberty as a male.
A big jaw is absolutely an advantage. In a combat sport this kind of advantage is doubly unfair and far more consequential because of the risk of serious injury or death.
I think this woman is Doing a disservice to trans women by insisting on fighting cis women in MMA.
What Dana white said is the same thing joe says. He is right on about this, it's unfair , dangerous and unethical for a trans woman to fight cis women.
If this is allowed it sets a terrible precedent where men who can't cut it in male MMA could transition to fight in women's MMA where they will have a significant advantage, and that would reflect very badly on the trans community .
Gender transitioning should not be a way to secure an athletic and competitive advantage.
Hormone treatments will not make a trans woman identical to a cis woman and not identical means not fair.
And the fact that some cis women may be outliers who are bigger or stronger then a trans woman does not make it any more appropriate or fair.
Some small people are outliers who are stronger then big people but that doesn't mean we don't need weight classes or that heavy people should be allowed to fight in lower weight classes.
Trans women deserve to be treated like cis women in every case I can think of except competitive combat sports . In MMA, it's wrong for her to be allowed to compete with cis women.

Do you really think that any guy would undergo hormone therapy and SRS just to gain an athletic advantage? Gender dysphoria works on cis people too, you know. Transitioning would be a literal nightmare and hell on earth for somebody who wasn't trans. People don't transition to get an "advantage" like that.
Women come in all shapes and sizes and IMO it is unfair to ban trans women when cis women who have the same "outlier" advantages are allowed to compete unquestioned.
You're entitled to your opinion on this and I think reasonable people could disagree on this issue, but I find it a bit presumptuous that you would assign yourself the authority to say that Fallon is doing "a disservice" to me. I admire and respect her for exposing herself to massive controversy and a world of hate in pursuit of her dreams.

Fucking yes they would.
Cheaters a re everywhere.
An athletic advantage is the difference between dropping out of football in college and becoming the Superbowl MVP. Millions of dollars are at play here.

Considering the precedent has already been set in many sports for trans women to compete in women's leagues, I think it's incumbent upon you and Moon shoe to provide examples of this happening outside of your imagination.

Yes I think a small number of individuals would transition to attain competitive advantage, especially because transitioning doesn't nexessarily involve any hornones or surgery (from the links you provided me in the other thread). People could even do it for more sinister reasons like the desire to beat up women.
But even if someone transitions because of legitimate trans identity, it's still not fair, safe or right for that person to fight cis women in MMA.
Even if you say she should be able to fight , where do you draw the line? What if she hadn't had any hormone or surgical treatments? Should a trans woman who hasn't had any medical treatments still be allowed to fight ?
And if you say no, how do you draw the line? What if she has only had treatments for a year?
The argument that trans women should be allowed to fight because cis outliers might be stronger is invalid, by the same logic steroids should be allowed.
Steroids are banned because they give an unfair advantage , not because they make you stronger then every single person who isn't on steroids . Likewise a trans woman might not be stronger then every single cis female , but it's still an unfair advantage .
To be truly fair you would have to have trans women's and trans men's divisions, where trans people can fight other trans people.
Trans women should not be fighting cis women or cis men, but only other trans women , at least when you are talking about professional competition.

I just called my girl a cis-woman and she got pretty offended. She said the correct term for a non-trans woman is just woman.

I guess that makes sense . So then there is just women and trans women, but no cis women.
You would say "a woman and a trans woman were at the park" instead of "a trans woman and a cis woman were at the park".

Trans women are women. If cis women don't want to be called cis women then they should stop calling us trans women and just call us women.

But there are many situations where it would be necessary to differentiate the two and specify one or the other . Trans women are women, but there are still fundamental and consequential differences .
Trans women cannot become pregnant or menstruate, they have no ovaries.
If a trans woman meets a man and there is romantic interest she has an ethical obligation to disclose that she is trans . How can she do that without the word trans ?
Trans people have unique medical needs and mental health challenges . All of these realities require a special word to identify trans people and distinguish them from cis people.
In most cases you can just call a trans woman a woman, but there are many situations where you would need a word to distinguish them, for example if you are raising awareness of the unique challenges faced by trans people, you need the words trans or some other word with the same meaning.
And I think many trans people do identify as trans , not only as women or men.
And especially when you consider that many trans women still have penises, it's pretty clear you can't just call them women without any other qualifier, practically speaking .
Contrarily women do not need an extra word, saying cis women is essentially redundant .

Also taking a few years of some self defense Korean matial art doesn't have ANY bearing on the sport of MMA. 2 completely different animals and if you can't see the difference in advantages you just want to see what you wanna see.

Giant hands and a bigger frame make for an advantage in a sport like MMA. Why is this even being debated? Your PC bullcrap is flat out scary sometimes.

Well, it may not make you less of a woman, but it certainly makes you radically, profoundly physically different from a cis woman .
It's important to differentiate gender and sex. If you have a penis you may be a female in terms of gender , but you are male in terms of sex, gender being social/cultural and sex being biological and physical.

Of course it is as profound as I think it is . If you have a penis, you can't have vaginal sex or bear children.
Those are among the most important parts of a heterosexual relationship . The difference could scarcely be more profound .
The difference would be equally profound for a lesbian woman in a relationship with a trans woman.
Can you explain or justify in anyway your claim the difference is not profound ?

Well, my girlfriend is a cisgender lesbian and we do have an extremely lezzy relationship. She is phallophobic and has never been with a man. Thank you for providing the best possible counterexample to reinforce my point.

What counter example ? How does it reinforce your point ?
You said your girlfriend is phallophobic. That means afraid of penis . You have a penis . Therefore she is afraid of part of your body. Therefore it's a profound difference .
And if she is afraid of penis and you don't have a vagina, then you are basically sexually incompatible . She can't give your oral sex which is the main way lesbians have sex.
I can't imagine a more profound difference .

I don't need to be a lesbian to know that oral sex is the main way lesbians have sex any more then I need to be gay to know that anal sex is a big part of gay relationships.
If you have a penis and your girlfriend doesn't like penis , how is it possible for you to have sex?
You can give her oral but she can't give you oral. You can't penetrate her and she can't penetrate you. She could finger your butt and you could kiss and cuddle.
It's great If you have found some way to have sex despite the lack lof physically and psychologically compatible parts . I would like to know how you do that .
But to say having a penis is not a profound difference and then say yor girl friend is phallophobic could not be more contradictory and nonsensical. If your girlfriend is afraid of penis and you have a penis that is a huge difference from a lesbian relationship between two cis females.
Please note different does not mean less or bad, it means not the same .
Different does not imply unequal.

Thank you for explaining that. I was genuinely curious.
What is a hitachi ?
What about my statements was "presumptuous"? I don't see anything I said as rude, just open.
Much of what you have said to me today seemed extremely rude to me, but it's all good . I have enjoyed all the discussion a lot and found it very interesting . I am fascinated by this topic and i am in the process of learning everything I can about transgender .
Therefore the opportunity to talk to you has been awesome.
are you planning to have Bottom surgery in the future ? I think it's called bottom surgery . Are you planning to have a vagina someday?

It's a personal subject so I can get heated at times when people are speaking authoritatively from a position of ignorance. I do regret coming off as rude and I am honestly doing my best to be more judicious with my anger dealing with non-antagonistic people who are simply ignorant.
This is a hitachi:

And I do plan on having SRS someday. I'm not sure when, since it is very expensive (even though IMO it should be covered by health insurance) and I have to research surgeons. I only get one shot at this so I want to make sure I get it right.

ZiG, just out of curiosity, how do you think you would respond in my position? If cis-man-on-cis-woman sex was exceedingly uncommon, and you felt compelled to end the ignorant stereotypes that are making your life a giant pain in the ass on a daily basis, and an informal non-professional acquaintance had a genuine curiosity about what you guys "actually do", how would you react?

Again , I am hearing an implied apology and again I accept it.
Believe it or not I have been engaging in well intentioned good natured conversation with you with zero desire to cause any hurt or offence , not do I believe I have said a single transphobic or hate inspired thing.
I was actually astonished you accused me of bigotry and responded with so much hostility as nothing I said at all expressed anything like that at all.
I am actually pro-trans, that's why I find it astonishing you got so angry and accusatory with me. You even gave me a bad rating when all I did was post a very trans affirmative documentary and engaged in some very open honest and non derogatory discussion .
The way you have interpreted my posts has rarely been close to what they said, far less what I intended. You lumped me in with a bunch of transphobic people but you did so wrongly and without justification in what I actually posted.
If you feel like changing or removing my rating I will gladly do the same with yours, but regardless I enjoy talking with you, I just find it dismaying that you have been unremittingly hostile towards me for no reason.

I changed your rating to a 2 instead of a 0.
I have nothing against you personally, and I realize now that you had no ill intent, but your comments in that other thread, where you compared gender transitioning with wanting to have a penis plus a vagina, or wanting to be an anthropomorphic cartoon animal, or being white but wanting to be seen as black, were extremely trivializing of the very serious medical issue of gender dysphoria, of its neurological etiology, and of the experiences which compel trans people to transition. These trivializing analogies, which could only make sense from the perspective of never having needed to undergo a gender transition and being unaware of what drives people to make this decision, are components of ideologies which have caused immense harm to the movement for transgender rights, and damaged us on the individual level, in recent decades.
I was also pretty upset with the specific five-minute clip you referred-- of a young trans man who transitioned early expressing something approaching "regret" around transition-- because it seemed to encapsulate a complete ignorance of the terrible post-pubertal pain of gender dysphoria which informs the logic of allowing children access to preliminary transition-related therapies. Obviously I was less certain of the need to transition when I was 16 than I was when I started at 27, because I hadn't lived in the hell of gender dysphoria for ten or so years. I was much less credulous of this stuff when I was sixteen, much more skeptical and much more likely to ask similar questions.

It was just really personal, I was very reluctant to say all that stuff in the first place... my GF would legitimately be pissed if she knew that I had shared all of that, and the different spheres of my existence on the Internet are fairly porous. For example, ZiG is my friend on facebook. He is my friend and I trust him not to go pulling some sheisty shit behind my back but it's just a bad idea to share information that intimate in the first place.

My point about that was totally valid. In the past it was unthinkable to physically transition from one gender to the other because we didn't have the medical or scientific capability . Now we do and the effect is revolutionary . People can change their biology to more closely match the internal identity .
Trans people want to change their external bodies to match their internal self conception or ideal self and now they can. As science progresses (rapidly) more and more new procedures will be invested just as radical as sexual reassignment surgery is today.
It will be possible for people to change their bodies in ways we can't imagine now, people can and will replace body parts with robotic parts, they can and will alter themselves to have animal like qualities, they can and will change their skin color and racial appearance .
It will be increasing possible to change ones physical body in preciously undreamt of ways to More closely match internal and ideal self image and identity .
This is true . It's a trend that has only begun with sexual reassignment surgery . To reflect on the future direction this is going ,( which will include "furries" using surgery to adopt animal like traits to match their own personal self image) among many other things. These were not mentioned as analogies but as inevitable future developments on the trajectory of body modification through medicine and surgery and science , or which sexual reassignment surgery is a striking example.
This is true and interesting and in no way demeans or insults trans people .
As for the clip , I asked you repeatedly to watch the whole documentary , not just that clip!
And as I explained that clip was super relevant to exactly what we were talking about at the time. Furthermore all I did was link the clip, I didn't make it ! The clip was a trans man sharing his real life experience . How can you be mad at me for sharing a clip of how a trans man describes his experience that was relevant to the topic ?
The whole documentary was pretty trans affirming and any slights you have imagined in my posts have been imaginary and projection.

Yes. Apparently the UFC agrees with me on this one, too.
Also, if you'd like to avoid offense, the proper term for "non trans women" is "cis women". I know you prefer to use more words than fewer, but try to make an exception for this in the future.

In the past it was unthinkable to physically transition from one gender to the other because we didn't have the medical or scientific capability . Now we do and the effect is revolutionary . People can change their biology to more closely match the internal identity .
This is not true. Immediate precedents for medical transition exist in every cultural sphere except the west and analogues to the practice have existed for thousands of years. Even the west had trans women in Roman times, they were called Gallae, priestesses to the Goddess Cybele, before they were wiped out by Christianity. There have been Hijra in India for many centuries. Two-spirits existed in the Americas prior to colonization and some would follow a program of herbal hormone supplementation. The practice of farming the hormonally rich urine of pregnant horses has been known around the world for many centuries. Premarin, the first estrogen/progesterone containing hormonal supplement on the western market, was derived in this way, proving my point that the effects of hormones were known long before western medicine took credit for it.
Quote:
This understanding of transition really emphasizes the cosmetic aspects while ignoring the deep neuropsychological factors that compel a trans person to change. I keep trying to say this and keep getting ignored, in the end I didn't transition because I wanted to look different. I did it because my moods were disordered and my emotions were occluded and it was ruining my fucking life. I'd always seen myself as female and certainly wished for others to do so as well but in the end, the primary motivation for hormonal transition was to be safe in my own goddamn head, not to look a certain way for other people. The fact that my feminization is coming along nicely certainly is a nice perk, but this process would be medically necessary for me regardless to whether I got curvy or stayed flat as a post, because my brain was fundamentally incompatible with my naturally occurring sex hormones.
It's extremely demeaning to compare the very deeply felt need for this type of transition to the totally cosmetic "need" to be an anthropomorphic cartoon animal or another race. It's far off base, and speaking as somebody who has followed the recent struggle for trans rights very closely, it's a politically toxic to the struggle for trans equality. This misunderstanding of how trans people experience themselves is used to deny the viability and necessity of care, to great detriment for the people who need it. If you cared about our struggle for equality, you would please take me seriously when I tell you that these comparisons are not only inappropriate, they are politically loaded and have the potential to do great harm.
I know you think you are being evenhanded and utopian, but your views are vastly oversimplified and completely uninformed by the reality of the situation, and I wish you wouldn't get so defensive and go into denial when I say that you are speaking in inappropriate, offensive, politically loaded terms. I hate it when cis people presume to know what "should" or "shouldn't" be offensive to trans people. Not for nothing but you have no idea what the hell you are talking about and the reasonable thing to do would be to defer to somebody who does. I mean no offense by this. I am not calling you a transphobe or a bigot. But what you are saying is inappropriate and politically dangerous and I want you, out of respect to myself and my sisters in transition, to stop talking like this. I am not "projecting" or "irrational", I simply know many things on this subject that you did not learn from your documentary.
Quote:
As for the clip , I asked you repeatedly to watch the whole documentary , not just that clip!
And as I explained that clip was super relevant to exactly what we were talking about at the time. Furthermore all I did was link the clip, I didn't make it ! The clip was a trans man sharing his real life experience . How can you be mad at me for sharing a clip of how a trans man describes his experience that was relevant to the topic ?
The whole documentary was pretty trans affirming and any slights you have imagined in my posts have been imaginary and projection.
I really just don't feel like watching the goddamn documentary, can't you respect that?

If you don't want to watch the documentary fine but don't blame me for posting a clip of it, if you don't watch the documentary for context that's your choice not mine.
There are people who engage in furry just for fun but there are others (maybe they have a different name) who strongly feel like their true inner self is a fox, dog or cat. For them it's not just cosmetic it's an identity issue. I don't understand It but I accept it and don't judge it or demean it. If you find it demeaning for trans people to be mentioned in the same post as communities like this then it would seem you are Being demeaning of these groups , denying their validity, rather then me being demeaning to trans people.
Your claim that sexual reassignment surgery as it exists today is not a radical new development is patently absurd. The possibility of medical and surgical transition today is totally unprecedented. Obviously trans people have been around forever, in various cultures , and I never said otherwise. But modern sexual reassignment and chemical and hormonal therapies are totally new and revolutionary.
I never denied anything about the reasons why trans people transition, I just pointed out that just as they are able to transition from one gender to another for internal and identity reasons, so other forms of transitioning will become more and more possible and common for internal and identity reasons, even if those reasons are very different.
I didn't say you wanted to transition for cosmetic reasons , I said people will increasingly change their bodies to more closely match how they think of themselves and feel inside and how their ideal self would be configured physically.
Again you are misunderstand my basic point. I am not comparing transgender to transracial or furry people in the sense of saying they are the same or have the same motivations, I am just pointing out that they have in common a desire to change their bodies to more closely match their ideal self. This is undoubtedly, undeniably true and there is zero reason to take offence to it. Trans people want to change their bodies to more match their ideal self image, and so do other groups. This trend will continue and expand . It won't stop with sexual reassignment , it will also manifest in other things like trans humanism and replacing organic body parts with artificial and digital prosthetics.
What I am saying is true, undeniably so, and interesting . There is no reason that you should take offence to the observation that science is increasingly enabling humans , for various reasons and with various motivations , to change their bodies and alter their physical self , in increasingly profound ways.
I never said being trans is exactly the same or has the same motivations as other forms of body modification. I just pointed out that like being trans, other forms of identity and body modification are being enabled by science.
You can't deny facts just because they make you uncomfortable for some political reason. It may upset you that people will use surgery to change their racial appearance, get animal ears and cat eyes or have robot arms, but these are facts. They will remain facts no matter how much you choose to be offended by them. and no matter how much you hate trans people having something in common with transracial people or furries, there is a commonality - the use of surgery and science to change the body in accordance with felt identity and ideal self image .
It's not the same , it's not identical , it's not equal in motivation or importance, but it has an undeniable commonality in that key area - using science to change the body to more Closely match the internal identity and mind.
There is nothing demeaning or offensive in my observation that trans people are one manifestation of a historical trend towards more modification of the body, and this is a real historical trend that it is fully appropriate to observe. i don't deny that the motivation of trans people to engage in body modification is very different then the motivation of others , but what these different groups have in common is the use of body modification to achieve or embody the desired identity, and just as trans people are becoming increasingly accepted, so these other forms of body modification (such as transhumanism and robot parts) will also become increasingly mainstream.
This is simply true, and it's no more productive to get offended by this historical trend then it is to be offended by the passing of the seasons.

Women exist. Anthropomorphic cartoon animals do not. There is no neurostructural pattern that is particular to an anthropomorphic cartoon animal and no neurochemical balance that is particular to anthropomorphic cartoon animals. I am not demeaning the furry community by pointing out that this analogy is inappropriate and absurd.
Chemical and hormonal therapies are NOT new or revolutionary. The only recent innovation in terms of gender transition is SRS, the other steps have existed for centuries in hiding. Further, body modification is far more extensively practiced in primitive societies than in ours. IMO you have not identified any real historical trend here.
Again, you can either continue to repeat these mistaken and inappropriate statements as fact, or you can respect trans people by taking it from the only trans person who is willing to correct you that you are fatally mistaken. You can not have it both ways.

If you keep insisting on saying "tranny" while refusing to punish its use even though it is a slur which is deeply offensive to trans people, I should get to call you a cissy. It's only fair.

When I said this, I actually called her cis-wife. She thought I was referring to sister-wife, as in FLDS culture. Regardless, I always hear of a woman referred to as a woman, not a cis-woman.
BS, I was just poking fun. I have nothing against trans-gender people or trans-women. If the hormone therapy and SRS helps you psychologically, then I am fully supportive.

so now you speak for all non transgendered people? do most gay people also identify as being the sex that they are or do you believe they really identify as the opposite sex? what of the zoophiles, I mean they dont identify as animals while some people may identify as animals but have no attraction to animals, wouldnt that make them trans species and is that any different than the trans racial claims you've broken out the noose for
we pick and choose the words we decide are going to be offensive based on whom we're talking to, we choose which words are going to hold power over us and that's why we decide to allow them to be hurtful words because when we can say "this offends me" we then have some control over that person that has been showing control over us, but in doing so, we dont take control from them, we simply give them more control, more power over us. this is no different than the word 'nigga' an the word it was derived from in the black community, are they really offended by it, no, if they were they wouldnt be throwing it around and claiming it as 'a term of endearment' but they second a white man says it it's suddenly offensive as fuck
why do you insist on labeling yourself and others, hese labels do nothing but seaparate you from the rest of us, are you a woman or a trans woman, make a fucking choice already and stop letting people who shouldnt have any power over you reside in your head

I've been talking with a girl in thailand for several months, her cousin is a 'ladyboy', the first photo I saw of the cousin was in a men's suit and she looked almost like a wax statue because she was still wearing make up but it wasnt effeminate. I made the comment on it and she told me that her cousin was a ladyboy, she asked me my thoughts about it to which I responded "she was born in the wrong body", the same answer that her father gave her. as I see it, if she is a woman then she's a woman, I see it the same with BS and rose and any other woman making that transition to the correct body

Cis in terms of gender is a fairly recently coined word and it is not well known.
Cisgender is in the OED now though, and it means what Soph said it means.
