if you go to sleep right after a meal, it's very bad for you and might even lead to diabetes?
I always get very sleepy after a meal. I have been told that this is an early sign of diabetes.
What are your thoughts? do you go to bed right after you eat?

Well I usually smoke weed before bed wich gives me the munchies so I usually eat a snack before bed. I can't comment on how it effects my sleep because I have ptsd wich makes it hard for me to have a good nights rest.

It happens. I've heard it's bad if you're trying for the weight loss thing, but I've not heard the diabetes thing. Most members of the animal kingdom snooze off a big meal though so I wouldn't think that would set off alarm bells.. all speculation on my part.

You get drowsy after you eat. Your body concentrates on digestion. That is why they tell you not to eat immediately before the SAT.

I hope the diabetes thing isn't true...
I always get sleepy after eating.
But doesn't Spain or some countries see post-meal naps as a customary or something ? I dunno.

You get sleepy after you eat because of natural blood-sugar changes. An unnatural change will result in fainting/dizziness.
Fatness and laziness are the biggest early signs of diabeetus. Are you fat and/or lazy?
Rhetorical. Start exercising.

theres lotd of types of diabetes.
two common categories.
one of the two common categories has nothing to do with weight.

As a true patriot. I would recommend eating at least a 14Oz. steak before bead. If possible with a pint of thin watered down lager style beer.

I usually get pretty sleepy after a meal, too. During the day if I'm kind of tired already(or not super energetic, at least), I try to eat lighter until after work, because I just feel sleepy af.
What I do, because food is essential to energy, it focus on blood sugar(which if you eat an unbalanced diet that's higher in sugar/starches, could be why you get sleepy not long afterwards).
I like caffiene, but that lowers blood sugar - so it's important that I combine something to raise it, and something to sustain it - these two things would be in the form of starches, and proteins. Orange juice, or any other fruit juice(with NO added sugar, preferably fresh squeezed) is fantastic for energy boosts(as is fruit in general). You don't need a lot. I usually drink 1/2 cup at a time. However, if you do this you should get some protein in you because it'll make you feel more satiated and it will help keep your blood sugar steady to avoid the ever-feared sugar crash. I usually have little mini snack breaks that involve drinking a tiny bit of orange juice, and eating a handful of nuts or a small dish of chickpeas. Breakfast is very light, lunch is very light.
Helps me tremendously. Also lets me come home, smoke weed and indulge my munchies to my heart's content because I am consuming the majority of the calories I need around that time.

What? I went back to work after both lunch and dinner today. My whole crew did. Every day for the last two weeks.

I didn't mean it like that. Seriously though a 10 minute google search could have answered your question.
