Picture of substrate 3 days after casing and introducing fruiting conditions

Here it is 3 days after...fanning as much as I can while monitoring the humidity.
Found myself spraying the top of the tub just to give it a nice mist...nothing in the casing layer!

Shouldn't need to fan a monotub,
Just loosen the holes if you think you need more FAE

Well how would I increase humidity? The bottom holes are already packed tightly with the top. Will the top holes have to be packed tightly as well? Then there would be no humidity...
Is humidity as important as FAE during the initial fruiting stage?

Yes. Water evaporation is one of the main pinning triggers.

OK well water evaporation happens with FAE then because at 100% humidity there would be no evaporation...am I right?

You are correct. Also you don't need to monitor humidity. Top holes should be loose to increase fae. Keep the casing damp with misting if it dries up a bit. Humidity doesn't do anything and it's not important. What is important is a high surface hydration (surface humidity) done with misting and a lower relative humidity/high fae environment for constant evaporation.

Doesn't look like it is ready for fruiting to me.

A casing can go into fruiting right after you case. His is somewhat colonized now. I'd say it's more than ready for fruiting. You don't have to wait for 20-30% colonization with casings.

Well I put the casing layer on when the top substrate looked 100% colonized, and fruited at the same time (removing tape and inserting polyfil)..
Can I just remove the polyfil from the top holes then? Maybe even loosen the bottom ones up?
I have a mister and the casing layer is still quite damp so all is well

You don't need to loosen the bottom holes. You can probably remove 1 top hole. I like to have half the top holes open. You still would like a higher rh, you don't want it to get cracked caps, just doesn't have to be super high. 65%+

yea i always focus on max fae and only worry about humidity if i see real drying. cubes seem to love fresh air my outdoor grows were always cool
