Watching people suffer wishing you could do something for them
    #21951327 - 07/16/15 10:26 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Hey guys, i find it troubling when i see other people complain about loneliness and lack of companionship. Especially types that have certain feature that most would not find ideal or desirable.

I struggle with these feelings too but a lot of it is just delusion because im fortunate enough to be physically pleasing on the eyes (i have a good looking face and body build) and have a social circle with people who i would describe as "cool or high status" but some people dont look good or have a strong social circle and they are just destine to walk alone and suffer.
I really wish people did not have to endure that, everyone should have a special someone that they can find love in, it just seems like a horror show for people who are not fortunate enough to experience that.

Sometimes my delusions make me think il never experience that either but its absurd because ive had a lot of good looking women attracted to me in my life just never did anything about it, or bailed on making out with them because i "wasnt feelin it"
So i can empathize with a lot of these people to an extent but will never have to experience their level of sorrow because i was genetically more fortunate, thank god obviously.
but everytime i think i have a problem i just look at those who will never have a chance for something like that and it really makes me sad.

i wish i could do something to make the world a little more fair but it seems some people just get dealt bad hands and have to deal with it.
Do you guys ever rationalize a reason why life is so unfair like this? and what could those people do to find peace in their horrible circumstances?

everytime i see this type of shit it really just makes me want to exit life.
when i do find a companion that i really like im just going to feel guilty because il be save and other people are going to burn in hell.

do most people not empathize or think about how others suffer like that?
seems like thats the only way to handle looking at these people, just pretend they dont exist and dont pay attention to it.

I dont know why life does this to people.
but i find it hard for me just to look away because those are feeling i struggle with too, i just feel guilt that these feelings are only going to be temporary for me while im in a dry spell but it most likely will be permanent for some people.

Being ugly doesn't stop people from being happy or finding love.  People who let being ugly stop them from being happy or finding love do it to themselves.

If you radiate awesomeness and confidence, what you look like is of little importance.  People of all kinds are attracted to those who say and do what they like for nobody but themselves.

All it takes is to stop feeling sorry for yourself that you got dealt a bad hand and go live your life for yourself, and love and friendship will follow in time.

yeah, thats true, a lot of their issues seem to be from low self esteem due to rejection so these people think that no-one will respond to them and just give up.

but i definitely understand why they would come to the conclusion that they are powerless.

when people don't have assurance of their awesomeness then negative self talk ends up building up in their mind whether they like it or not.

It's good that you empathize and are able to appreciate your blessings. Sometimes I beleive that we choose our human existence from another life to experience different types of suffering/joy so that we can learn from and take that experience back into our more eternal selves. Then again, at other times I am convinces that we live our same lives over and over again every time the universe contracts and re expands (Big Bang). Makes me want to live the most fulfilling life possible. I do feel a lot of empathy for people who have been dealt a shitty hand in life, but it is what you make of it. I know plenty of ugly dudes with attractive girls because they have self confidence and charisma. They can always become comedians or circus freaks if all else fail.

Yeah you're right that with no positive re-enforcement it can be hard to think positively.

It's easy for me to say the words I said in my first post even though I don't fully live by them myself.  Even if I don't right now though, it's what I believe and it's a large part of the key to being happy with oneself.

maintaining self esteem is hard even when you are physically appealing,

i would think it would be extremely difficult for someone who was not at societies beauty standard.

I work extremely hard to make sure im at or above societies beauty standard and still have issues with it i couldnt even imagine what id do with myself if i wasnt fortunate.

I pretty much body build like crazy to ensure that i will not be alone, and was lucky enough that it worked and am capable of turning female heads from time to time

but It would be pretty easy for them to gain self esteem by body building too but i realize that not everyone has the energy to succeed in that en-devour so i dont really know what to suggest to these people

nothing wrong with appreciating what you have been gifted with.

it would be worse being ashamed

but youre right, i can be too obsessed with vanity, only because society seems to make it so important.

il take your constructive criticism.

Ashes to ashes.. even the sexiest body turns to maggot food in time..

Get inside their head, with all our differences we're surprisingly the same when you get down to the "mechanics" of it..  There's some ugly motherfuckers out there that are smart as shit and fascinating to listen too and watch what they do..

When you have someones attention, you're attracting them, which in turn makes you "attractive".. and vice versa.

Everyone's got a story to tell on some level, even if they themselves don't even know it..

Atleast, as I see it anyways.

yeah, i find it amazing that most dudes are able to attract people to them without having to stress about appearance.

I myself feel like my social abilities arent up to speed with everyone else so i think i need other ways to compensate by worrying about vanity.

Its good and bad but at least the obsession keeps me healthy because it causes me to exercise, but its definitely not something i find happening for the right reasons.

I really am working on strengthening my social skills, im not bad but i can realize when other people are better and why its just tough to emulate that energy.

Its just a horrible feeling when someone rejects you right at sight because you look too "beta". Definitely inspires people to want to obsess about fixing that.

Well stop comparing yourself to others you know?  "Drive your own car" as they say.
Someone here once told me this, not exactly in these words but...

Think about when you go to the gym and work your muscles, the next few days they're sore, it's painful, but they come back stronger and more capable.  That mental shit's the exact same thing, you go out and exercise your social 'muscle' and the next few days it may burn because of some dumb shit you said or did.  It happens to everyone, I know it does to me.. but soon enough that burn wears off, your lessons are learned and the next time you go out your 'mental muscle' is stronger and more capable.  That kind of struck a chord with me..

Emulation won't get you anywhere because that's out there, you need to work the strings of in here.. if you know what I'm saying.

thats a great analogy!

socializing with people is definitely a muscle, and i can see that a lot of people a way bigger than i am in that regards.(sorry for comparing again )

I found i was not able to get attention from people i liked with my social strength so i wanted to look for a way i could increase my value to give me better chances to draw attention from new people i meet.

i know, i can see the relativity of that.

We are never happy with our lives. we always have someone to compare ourselves to and it makes us think we are living in a 3rd world country or some shit.

Volunteer work is probably a good idea..

I guess im just getting tripped up on the fact the life isnt designed to be balanced or fair. i have trouble accepting that i guess

You could give them hug and tell them their beautiful. There's lots of nice things you can do for people in a bad place, for all you know maybe there happy as fuck but you perceive them as suffering.

thats a great idea!

im also talking about people who are vocal about their suffering and loneliness.

i have been in the past before but my issue is more of feeling alone. I can do something to change it, or it will not be temporary because i have social circles that can introduce me to new and interesting people.

Id be crying if i didnt have that because im pretty shy so its hard for me to strike up a conversation with a stranger.
