Hi I believe I have found a king bolete(boletus edulis). I found it under some spruce trees in a soil/moss mix. Just want to make sure with someone who knows better. Thanks.

Appears to be in that group.  There is a fine net-like pattern on the upper stipe, right?

Also check Xanthoconium, which is in the Boletus edulis group.

Yes there is a fine net like pattern on 1/2" of the stem under the cap....more defined right under the cap. I looked up the Xanthoconium, and it appears to be more red on the cap. Sound right?

There are a few Xanthoconium species, some are more red than others.  In any case, it's a porcini and is good to eat.  Also look into Boletus nobilissimus.

Excellent.....I am excited to try a wild mushroom lol. Thanks. I will look up the others in the field guide. I am just waiting for a spore print as well. I may try to clone and grow on some white spruce roots.....see how it goes lol.
