Spores in a monotub: For Science!

I just had a fairly nice harvest of my pes amazonian but I timed it wrong and they spored about half my tub. Insanemike suggested I document its further progress (if any)
Reading what I could find it seems that there are two sides to this. On one hand, people say the spores retard the growth when they blanket the substrate. The other hand says it'll make them grow stronger.
We will find out, huh?

It would be interesting if you let one half sport late and not the other - see how the same sub deals with it.
I'll definitely be watching this.

well it seems like it's 50/50 but just in the middle and the sides don't have it so it's pretty much what you suggested.

that's pretty cool, could have sporulated harder but I think it'll be enough. I'm a little concerned about the bright patches right in the spore dump. just lighting or whats up?

Those areas were where the spore droppers were growing. I didn't use a scalpel or anything, just twist and bend till they're free.

OK, are they much brighter than the rest of the myc IRL too? or are they bruised and the light makes it look bright to me?

I think it's just my phone's camera. those patches look no different to me than the upper left corner. They are bruised but not super bad. there are pins inside them as well, like they were already growing inside the original.
that's probably normal, huh?

It looks like a light bruising from the mushrooms being picked but it did catch my eye like trich at first glance.

that's funny because the whole tub was declared bad by a few people but then it wasn't at all. (NOT discrediting them)

I'm like 90 percent sure it's my phone and 10 percent it's the one single 8 foot flouro in my garage making the lighting garbage. I don't feel like taking them outside then inside then outside then inside just for pics.

Day 2 after Operation Dumbo Drop.
Vigorous growth everywhere, including the spore patches. Pins also developing in the patches where previous shrooms occupied.
Random shots of the tub. It's neet to see fae in action (kinda] reflected by the spore pattern and how the spores moved through the tub and for the most part end up in/on the bottom polyfil

That's funny. It's just fuzzy feet and bruised stems but it totally looks like trich at first glance.

Very cool experiment, I've always wondered about spores on the substrate. I'm very careful to not let too many happen to fall. I hope your taking prints of those resilient Amazonian. Looks like a good strain to work with.

I let my last tube spore everywhere just because they dropped faster than I anticipated. I mean it was all deep purple. Doesn't do anything to the tub in my opinion. I had a strong first flush and just as strong flushes afterwards. Ended up with right under a pound, dry, when I finally decided to toss it.
If it does anything, it just lets you get more flushes out of the tub. Got around six moderate to strong flushes out of it.

Smart man. If you ever end up with an extra print and no time to work with it send this guy a PM lol

I'm sure I'll get a few more printed from the second flush and I don't mind putting them out there. It does help that we are both from michigan.
