First grow in forever or so it seems (UPDATE)

SO i am making my way back into the hobby again after what has to be 6 or more years. Things are going great. I got some spores from a sponsor, make a lc and knocked up some popcorn. Today i spawned to coir in 3 mini monos.
here are two(I added a layer of coir above the grain after a little further reading) they are at room temp. one is layered spawn and one is mixed(just testing a couple things).
Here is the third in my incubation chamber, you may notice a small ziplock( i hope it has PE spawn and coir in it, I knocked it up months ago and forgot about it. it still smelled like mushies when i cracked the jar tho)

As always any critiques or comments are welcome. If This comes out successful I will do a write up of my process

Why are you incubating? As the spawn colonizes the sun it produces a lot of heat!

I live in a studio apartment and i keep my AC on a lot. the first run i did failed horribly. The temperature can fluctuate a lot between rooms and weather or not i am cooking.
im trying to fine tune my operation. I started with old spores(could possibly have been froze or over heated during storage) so i ordered some new ones and tried again.

I guarantee that all the experienced folk on here will tell you to ditch it. They already will be a few degrees above ambient- my house is at 65F constantly and mine are doing just fine. Unless yours is in the 50s there's no need to hear them and even then you would want a space heater in the room not heat directly. It's inviting contaminant catastrophe.

Just an update on two of my mini tubs.

it appears as though the mixed will be ready first but I think that is because I didnt spread the top layer of grain evenly under the last layer of coir.

I have been incubating at a temp of about 80. The place I live is air conditioned 24/7. In the room where I keep my tubs and spawn jars and grow jars the ambient temp is maybe 72. Still I have been keeping the tubs--before they are fully colonized, at 80. I know it is frowned upon. But the mycelium loves it. I suppose sooner or later I will get whacked but so far so good. I think the key is all my stuff is sterilized, not pasteurized. And I sterilize 120 mins.
-------------------- Most of my beliefs I acquired from my father and from John Wayne, and anything that wasn't ultra tough and ultra cool was to me ultra embarrassing. In fact, I lived in a state of near continuous embarrassment, never measuring up to the ridiculous standards I had accepted without question, applied to a framework of expectations neither I nor anyone else could meet.--J C Amberchele almost nothing important that ever happens to you happens because you engineer it. Destiny has no beeper; destiny always leans trenchcoated out of an alley with some sort of 'psst' that you usually can't even hear because you're in such a rush to or from something important you've tried to engineer. ” ― David Foster Wallace, Infinite Jest
