Inoculation is the process of injecting/introducing spores into a substrate. Incubating is the action of letting your Inoculated substrate colonize at proper temperatures
-Should i put it in a dark location and wait for the mycelium to colonize fully?
Darkness is actually not a GREAT thing for Incubating. A little Indirect light will actually help the colonization process. Although I cant recall if white or blue spectrum is better for incubation. I have my BF substrate jars incubating in the cupboard above my fridge (where the temp Is consistently 77-80 degrees) and every morning I wake up I just open the cupboard until I get off work to let a bit of indirect light In there, then close it when I get off. So far so good. :

-How can you tell there is bacteria?
-Would'nt the spore print be contaminated also?
-Will the bacteria make the fruits harmful to digest?

- It looks slimy on the surface, that indicates some bacterial presence.
-Quite possibly, swab the spore print on an agar dish. When the mycelium grows out, you'll be able to spot contams. Transfer a tiny piece of healthy grow with an exacto blade and transfer to a new dish to get a monoculture if you want. OR just drop it in a grain jar.
-No just make sure it's not growing on the actual mushroom. I personally would not eat the fruits off a contaminated substrate.

Thanks! If there is bacteria present, i expect a different smell when i open the bag. Any thoughts on how it should or should not smell?
I probably won't eat them. I am mostly out for the spore print

It would be like a slightly sour smell. Taking a spore print is a good idea. You can germinate those on an agar dish and find clean growth if you want.

I have gotten some fruits from the growbag. I am wondering what you guys think and if they look good or bad. There was some belief that there was bacteria present in the bag. I did not smell anything out of the ordinary, but i did spot a peculiar growth on top of one mushroom.
I just tossed it, but do any of you know what it is?
I personally dont see any sign of bacteria on them, do you?
I got two spore prints from the biggest capsâș
In the second flush there was some mold on a few caps, so i just picked out the good looking ones. This is from the second flush.
I threw out the one on the bottom in the left pic cause it doesnt look too good and i also tossed the biggest one. It had some mold on the cap.
