Hi Kids! My friend Krusty has a casing thats getting hit bad by the evil of COBWEB MOLD! Krusty has isolated his casing, but doesn't know what to do! Should he toss it, or see if he can save it? Have any of you had any luck fighting this mycological menace? HOW?
and the details...
Krusty's Kasing is 1 pint of millet flour/verm cased with 60/40 as per starter's rez-effect method (where field capacity verm/substrate is mixed 1/2 and then cased to provide an extra moisture reserve). All materials were sterilized prior to use. It was cased 3 days ago, and just checked today, when the contam was discovered. The strain is creeper.
You may want to mist the casing with a h2o2:water solution for some days. Try using the search page and search for "cobweb mold" on this forum, this issue has been referred many times, in fact and sadly, is very common.
