  i planted all pictured but this is only half.  There are more basils that get clipped growing with tomatoes and peppers .  i let some basil go to flower for the bees.  One lady in the bldg really gets off on taking bee pics so i try to keep some flowers going for her and her babies.

One of my clients says they have only one bee on their balcony herb garden.  we got lots!   Fortunately the bees are docile and welcomed by the people.  It would suck if people were so afraid of getting bitten that they complained.

I can understand that, I love my bees:grin:

You know their numbers are on the decline and 40% of bees this year as compared to last year are dead due to a number of factors:nonono:

Next year if I can get those 7 acres I'm bidding on I'll start myself a bee hive and make my own fresh honey:headbang3:

Copriunus , Coprinellus

there is more info on Wiki. This is a species, that growing up as a kid, my folks had me avoid. Although (edible) its not real good, and I would advice against consumption of alcohol before or after ingestion of it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprinellus_micaceus

Although the article says: "C. micaceus has been found to be devoid of the toxin coprine, the Antabuse-mimicking chemical found in Coprinopsis atramentaria that causes illness when consumed simultaneously with alcohol", I have seen Populations to actually have the anabuse effect. I would just simply avoid cooking it with alcohol at all.. . and if you were looking for a coprinus to eat. I would always advise the commatus. It is much better.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprinus_comatus

The Sleeper Must Awaken!  (I do not advocate the ingestion of any substance without extensive research, and or the advice of trained medical and or spiritual personelle)

I know they're not active I just wanted to know if they have any benefits like being edible "even though I know some aren't already".

Sorry I can't find the pic of the gills but the spores are dark, blackish purple.

Then there are these tiny puffball like mushies.

The first species is some kind of lacrymaria, the second is a coprinoid or some kind, but not coprinellus micaceus.  None are edible.

Do you have problems with animals getting your gourds? I have dipper gourds but something (I'm assuming squirrels) are chewing down a gourd about every week now. We are going to be getting a dog soon so I'm hoping this will help with the problem. Other than that it looks like I might have to take up arms and pop a couple with the pellet gun. I like eating squirrel but I live in town so I'm not to keen on eating them here.

You should plan on getting at least 2 to start if you can afford it to be honest. That way if you lose one for some reason (it happens), you can split another and get the number of hives you have back up.

Small update:wink:

Here's a failed Ariocarpus trigonus graft that started to root as it refused the peres rootstock:grin:

Here is a cut Trich I found under my bag of dried Chamomile the other night while I was talking to a friend of mine "seeing what I had that could help him". The damn thing somehow rooted completely covered by plastic bags:tongue:

Actually Sarah those spines are pretty rough and before I ran inside to grab my camera hew was setting on top of another set of spines that were even longer and spikier:eek:

I seem to have a lot of different Mammillaria flowering atm:grin:

Ok I have a question. Yesterday I was working with a lot of my peres that I just abused for about a month and just let do their own thing. Needless to say it was a Fucking mess "as all of you that have peres probably already know:nonono:"

I'm trying to put together a couple grafts for some of the plants that have failed in previous grafts as well as prepare for the new Grafting Competition coming up.

This is what my table looked like nearly all day yesterday "Even worse before snapping these pics towards the end".

And here it was towards the end of the prep.

A lot of the plants had already been moved by the time I snapped this pic.

Also here are pics of my most recent emergency grafts. The middle section isn't looking so good but I have more pups on the same plant this is rotting very slowly that I'm gonna try to get right the next time "with tip and middle section".

This one is still very firm but I just don't like the look of it so next time I've got ALOT better plan:wink:

Also I wanted to let everyone know that after ALOT of trial and error I've figured out how to grow extremely thick Pereskiopsis to make for an awesome grafting stock :dancer:

It's kind of hard to put into words directly but give me a little time to take some measurements and I'll get back on here and explain what I've learned if anyone's still interested in this. BTW this is not a joke but you're gonna need a 6500K light fixture with the ability to raise it.

If you want to avoid crushing the scion and putting a big dent in it, next time try using parafilm instead of rubber bands, pull it stretched taut over the scion and hook it down over the spines.  If you need extra pressure, use an ace bandage wrapped around the whole pot to put gentle, even pressure on the scion.  I can't imagine they like being squashed like that, might have contributed to the rot.  If you like rubber bands, you can always put a 1 inch square piece of cardboard between the band and the scion so that the pressure is more even.  I don't like the rubber band tek, a few days with parafilm and maybe a couple dabs of superglue at the very edge is usually all it takes for lophs to make a good connection with a pedro if everything is actively growing.  Ariocarpus and astrophytums are woodier and harder to get to take to the rootstock, though they're tougher and can handle the bands better.

That was actually my plant to use parafilm on the next one. that cardboard rubberband idea sounds good too:wink:

I just use the bands because I have easy access to them but I'm gonna buy some parafilm in the next day or 2.

I spent all day yesterday taking care of peres so today I'm gonna do a SHIT TON of grafts for shits n giggles:grin:

I have a few more updates to add guys so I hope you all have not left yet:grin:

Gotta Love a nice Passion fruit Bowl. They still look green and for some reason this specific plant these came from doesn't change colors when they ripen but I pick them when they drop off of the plant and they are ALL magnificent with their flavor;)

Here's a nice Old Ferocactus in flower now. I'll update when they open up.

My Favorite Echinopsis var 'Dominos' spitting out some nice pups for his daddy:love: Does anyone know what that split could be caused by "There are 2 on the plant"?

Thanksgiving cactus and a Mammillaria plumose in flower.

Here's a DragonFruit cutting I decided to root on both ends for shits n giggles. It seems to be spitting out some interesting pups.

An update pic of my trich that drops all it's spines as it grows.

Some new Kratom cuttings a friend of mine on here sent me. Thanks again Buddy:super:

Here's a pic of my Brussel Sprouts everyone said I'd never be able to grow this far south. I'm letting them set through a few light frosts to sweeten their flavor a bit.

Turbinicarpus frailensis graft I put together 3 or 4 weeks ago. Seems to be growing pretty fast for the genus it is and I'm VERY happy because I have no other plants to work with "of this specific species".

Ariocarpus retusus which seems to have a seriously fuzzy bottom. This one has a speedy growth now that it's aged a bit.

Here are a couple of my Arabica coffee cuttings I made about 2 1/2 months ago. I'll check for roots soon. I promised someone a cutting at some point but I can't remember who it was:justdontknow:

Psychotria alba sprouts.

I had some Troll messaging me a few days ago trying to argue with me and he said something about he thought I was just a kid that lived with my parents and they buy me plants "that's why I have such a large collection:lol:" or some BullShit along those lines. This is my kitchen table BTW! Does anyone have parents that would let them keep the kitchen table like this?:smirk: Naw dude I'm a Grown Fucking Man and I pay for my own shit "if your dumbass is reading hopefully you can understand this":doublefu:

Ariocarpus hintonii Graft.

Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus Graft.

Lophophora koehresii and a Lophophora jourdaniana Graft.

Here are Here are a few questions I hope some of you guys can help me with.

Does anyone know what type of Opuntiaoid this may be?

What do you guys think is happening to this Loph? Spider Mites possibly or something else? It seems to have appeared as if it was natural.

Same as I asked at the top but what could this possibly be? It's Orange so I'm hoping it's not an Orange Rust or anything like that:facepalm: It still seems healthy so hopefully it's nothing "Maybe and Over Watering or something".

I think this is a Rebutia or a Mammilaria of some type but I haven't had the time to look it up. I know it comes from a plant 'unnamed' of some clumping species that my cousin has but I have no clue of the species other than the possible genus I named above.

Hopefully you all will enjoy this picture dump and some of you may be able to help me answer some of these questions I have at the bottom:grin:

Thank you all for your time and please let me know what you all think:super:

If that trichcereus continues to drop it's spines that will be VERY COOL.

Yea I know dude!

Mostly told me I might be able to give it a pre-name "or something like that" with the latin word for spineless or dropped spines and same it as a spine less pach.

Hey Modern I know you have an answer for at least one of my questions above:wink:

Let me know what you think about the damage on those 2 plants please:crazy:

Your echinopsis is fine, just a little splitting from overwatering.  Your loph looks like it has got thrips.  You have fast crawling little yellow/white bastards running around over any of your plants?

Lol I didn't read anything just looked at the pictures

That cactus looks to have a slight split likely due to overwatering or possibly overfeeding(nutes). Shouldn't be a big issue... just don't water it and keep the split dry until it callouses in a few days.

Nice pics, spacey. Those grafts are coming along nicely.

Your Cylindropuntia will have to grow a little bit with proper light before any attempt to name it is made. Right now it looks like the bits that fall to the ground and grow in the shade of a main bush, am I wrong?

I'll second the observation that your Echinopsis has split and you needn't worry. You may want to dust the split with cinammon just to be sure.

Your baby looks like a Mammillaria, but come back to it after it dries and grows a little more.
