You could sit on one of those things. Name is appropriate. You need a lumberjack to pick them. Nice pictures!

They are by Conroe/Cleveland area! This is our second year with them. I think they came up with the dirt we unearthed when digging 6' holes for our pilings for the house. Ancient spores! Perfect environment...dark, moist, cool/warm. They scared us at first! WTF????

Much agreed with the WOW factor! Dang those look cool. I'd love some spores if you get a chance to print them. I'd definitely print every one that I could if I were you.

:whathesaid: I would love to work with these! If you do get an opportunity to spread some spores that'd be awesome, I'd definitely get some.

By the way, do you know the latin for that species? I'm not familiar with the name 'Titan'.

Nevermind on the latin, Macrocybe titans is the name I found on a quick search. Also I found a page on Wikipedia that seems to contradict their edible status. Claims are that it produces large quantities of cyanide!???

Macrocybe

I am sorry to wake this thread guys, but this seems to be the newest one on M. Titans.

Do you still have thismaroud?  Benit spores, cloned tissue ornwhatever?

My niece is doing her first ever science fair project, about mushrooms and different growing media and we thought it would bee a great idea to grow one of these and have it on display during her presentations of the project.

Id be happy to send you some cash to cover shipping plus some for your own enjoyment
