Habitat:grass under a willow tree, next to in ground sprinkler. Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
Gills:cinnamon brown when fresh, , not attached, gills drying to dark purplish brown Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
Stem:1-2 inches, 2-3mm, brown-red, slimy, hollow, thin Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.
Cap:5-10mm, light brown with dark lines that are slightly visible, orange nipple, dried to a whitish with blackish mottled , wet at first , has wrinkled striations now that its starting to dry Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
Spore print color: Very important! Dark purple
Bruising:nope, but I live in Michigan and nothing bruises very well, I did find subbs that barely blued, Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.
Other information: Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.
Pic 1 through 6 are the suspected liberty caps
fresh and old side by side this is the biggest subbalteatus that I found you can really see the spiral in the stem on it this last pic is of a panaeolus foenisecii(on left) and sub on right.
I found 5.13 grams of sub's today and that's dry weight. I found 4 grams dry the previous. First time that I was able to find magics in my life! I have been searching in all the wrong places, now I know to check new neighborhoods. The ones with sprinklers and nice grass. I was checking a soccer field in a park cause it was filled with mushrooms but they were all foes and a few other species.
Onto the suspected liberty caps or whatever they maybe. I was really surprised to see dark purpllish spores come from Cinnamon brown gills. I was also surprised to find them in crappy grass that looked old but then I found the sprinkler head within 2 feet from them.
I have to say that I am sad now that my new spot is cleared by two days of picking. It took forever to find it, Michigan sucks for shrooms! I have a horse farm nearby but too scared to ask if I can look for research mushrooms. I am also too scared to trespass. I got bitched out the other day because I was picking mushrooms from the sidewalk in a rich neighborhood. The lady was like, what are you doing? What for? I said that I sold them online as compost, she then said get out of my yard, I said the sidewalk was public etc.

panaeolus subbalteatus isn't the same as liberty caps. Psilocybe semilanceata, is commonly referred to as Liberty Caps.

I know panaeolus subbalteatus isn't the same as liberty caps. I just added 3 extra pics of them cause I thought someone might like to see them.
Here are some pics of the mystery libs/pans So anyone have an idea of what they are? Pics 1-6?? They have that tiny little nipple, I think the stem is hollow but they were a bit dried when I checked. The gills are thick, the outside edge bottom of the gills are white
dried suspect with white on bottom of gills
dried suspect
dried suspect
dried suspect on the right and active pan on the right
suspect print on left and active pan on the right

you're a bit stubborn in your conviction there OP.
i'm loosing count of how many TI's have commented here. believe them, if you discount me.
really want to know what you have? get a microscope and look at your collection. then you can prove to everyone they're libs. or learn they aren't.
for a hundred thirty bucks you'll have the means to provide yourself peace of mind, at the very least, that you know to the best of your ability what it is that you have in your hand.
personally, i think that's cheap. what's your phone bill this month?

Just out of curiousity...does anyone have a guess as to what these could be. I was thinking liberty caps. I posted pics of still growing and dried. Spore print is jet black. Found in horse manure
