Hey guys. I wanted to post this in Getting Started, but I can't post there for some reason. So i'd just like to know how my CVG minis are doing. I can post more pics, since I'm worried about contamination after my cow manure mono had to be tossed because of cobweb contam. Anything noticeable?

Awesome. I was worried because the mycelium was so wispy. I guess that's normal. How close does it look to introducing fruiting conditions? I was predicting based on the look and growth rate either tomorrow or wednesday. I mixed these 2 on Monday of last week

It's hard to take photos of almost fully colonized sub because the autofocus freaks out.
Yes, the colonized sub should look like it's floating, just like your pics.
Looks like it's about 80% but it's really hard to tell. I'd give it another week, if you want an exact timeframe. I'm a fan of consolidation for at least a few days after 100% colonization.

what are the dimentions of your tubs? And what is the hole pattern--I mean is it 2 holes in the lower half of the sides and one hole in the upper half of each end? Or is it a lot of 1/4 in holes all around as in the Doc-T version of the monotub?

Pasty, I used your tek for minis for that. Thank you for noticing .
25 qt target tubs with a 7.25" height. It's gonna be a tight fit, but I'm hoping for the best. 4 hole mini. One on top of each short side, one on the bottom of each long side.
One week you say? Sounds perfect.
Thank you for the help everyone. I'll let you know how everything turns out

Update!!
I'm starting to notice pins and primordia forming in both tubs. Is that a sign of full colonization or just premature conditions? I can't believe I actually succeeded in my endeavor! Is this what it feels like to be a father?

Polyfill sterilized and stuffed. Tub lids converted to transparent. Light on timer, fan on, sides misted...let's do this

My 2 biggest pins so far. I have a feeling they'll abort though. There's at least 15 more in each tub, but the lids have a bit of misting on then, and it fucks with autofocus

Second set of monos, sadly. My last was a storebought steer manure/straw substrate with a pathetic amount of spawn. Had to toss the whole thing from a massive cobweb infection. It was a 72 qt tub, too :/. Thankfully, I discovered something cheaper and much more contam resistant. Thank you based coir
Edit: i tossed the contaminated sub in my compost pile. Maybe my garden will be inoculated once the compost is done. One can only hope

Thanks to Pastywhyte...I discovered mini-monos... I'm never going back to full size (aside from an experiment here and there)...Minis are just easier to move, clean up, colonize faster, and not all of your eggs are in one basket. Thanks Pasty Mini-Monos...FTW! And good job OP!

I seem to be getting quite a few aborts. Is this because the sub and air is too dry? Or is there not enough FAE?

It does look a little dry, mist it and stuff the holes tighter.
