Late casing VS colonized casings? Which one and why?

I have read info on both but have not read any new information from the last couple years on whether or not casing layers should be colonized or not. I know cubes don't need a casing layer but have read almost everywhere that they do better with one.
So when I case my little 30qt. Should I case while introducing it to fruiting conditions (FAE) or should I let the casing colonize for a couple of days? Thanks

do both, and see what u like more.
i case with peat, and i get better pin sets when i let it get to 30% before fruiting.
i case on the thicker side though, some case thin and fruit right away. some case with coir and fruit right away.
don't ever forget there are more variables in the grow, and ur situation, than any TEK or thread can ever take into account. once u get things down with spawn and substrate, ur going to have to start making your own decisions based on your own experience, knowing full well that it could fly in the face of "what you have read almost everywhere"

Thanks for the quick response. I'll be sure to post results of my experience and include as much variables relating to my experience for others as possible!
