Identifying a mushroom
    #21936063 - 07/13/15 04:50 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Hello,
Today i found some mushrooms that i think may be Psilocybe subaeruginosa however am unsure so I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I found them in the bush about 20-50 meters away from the Goulburn river near an old rotting log(On the ground, not on the log) in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia.
The mushrooms are quit small with a straight and relatively constant stem. The gills are yellowish brown, similar to the cap of the mushroom which is brownish and striated with the slightest of nipply things on the top of some(sorry about the terminology). The caps all seem to be pretty concave though.
When bruised the mushroom turns what i can only describe as black, i might be able to see a blue tinge to it however i suspect this may just be wishful thinking.
I cant smell the mushrooms very well but the odor can be likened to your average Button mushroom.
The color of the spore print is almost impossible to put my finger on, maybe brownish... again I see a slight violet tinge that may just be me seeing what I want to see.
The picture of the one in pieces i the one I did a spore print of.
I was also wondering if the mushroom with the dark outer-rim is the same species.
Sorry about the low quality photos.
cheers
