Visited a dry swamp a while ago where I searched for Psilocybe Subaeruginosa with no luck (too far south). During my hunting I noticed the unmistakable bright orange Gymnopilus sp. clumps, but at the time it was unknown to me that it could possibly be psychoactive. I returned to the swamp with my new found knowledge of Gymnopilus, only to find that it had flooded (like all swamps do :S) . So like any sane person, i removed my shoes and waded through the swamp and found some small mushrooms resembling Purparatus and Spectabilis. Can some seasoned hunters help identify these for me? Thanks
Habitat: Southern Western Australia, Paperbark swamp, Found growing on dead and decaying paperbark
Gills: light yellow on smaller specimens and rusty orange on some larger ones
Stem: 2 cm average, Rusty brown
Cap: 2.5 cm large ones, 1 cm small, purple-orange Spore print color: On the way
Bruising: No real distinct colour when bruised
Other information: Images:

Bitter taste (Yes. I put it in my mouth, great idea with an unidentified mushroom)
Thankyou. Please be patient with me as this is my first post

You're a fuckIng idiot. I can't stress enough how stupid it is to put an unidentified and possibly poisonous or deadly mushroom in your mouth. I hope you aren't dead yet but if you continue to do this you will be.

Tasting and spitting is safe for just about every species of mushroom. Just don't swallow.

Those pics are too blurry for a positive identification. Find natural light, also find a way to steady the camera and focus then push the button.
