Well I bought 100 beans and I'm gonna start them tomorrow. Any advice? I'm gonna do a vinegar soak the quick h202 rinse, soak for 24 hours in warm water then plant. Anybody grow related species?

I have not tried Tabernaemontana..
However, I Have tried a couple kinds of Gardenia species. (Tahittian gardenia, and Gardenia erubescens. . as well as Randia Species.
They benefit from a heating pad in germination. I did mine in a papertowel, in a ziplock bag. After a number of the seedlings began to sprout, I moved them to soil.. .Some species take longer than others.. some readily germinate, no problem. Others, can take longer. I tried a Gardenia species from New Caledonia, with 0% germination. I am not sure if it was bad seed, or what. . but hey. . you just don't ever know what you will get, with seed starting. . its always a surprise. I wish you luck with your project. post some photos later, if you can.

I ended up soaking them for almost 2 days (mostly because I was too lazy to put them in soil yesterday). I read that fresh seeds aren't that hard to germinate other then a long wait so I wasn't planing on doing anything special. I did microwave the soil though since it may take a while to germinate.

Any luck?
I actually got one going. I was afraid I screwed it up because I let the soil dry out, But at least one of the four has sprouted so far.

All four of mine are doing good so far. I wonder how cold tolerant they are? I want to plant mine outside but we get a light frost in winter where I'm at. I may just sacrifice one to experimentation and see what it can handle.

I doubt they would survive outdoors in my area, given where their natural range is. I assume they do not handle frost well. I am honestly keeping a close eye on night time temps here where I am. I love Gardenias and Randias, Maybe some day I'll get ahold of some Tabernaemontana seed and try.
Keep us posted guys. I'll be interested to see how they do. Yappi, If you do decide to place one outdoors, let us know how it does.

Well I noticed that this one and the other suspected germinated seeds started to react once night temps hit below 50f. This could be a coincidence as for most of the summer they were in solo cups but did nothing and then the soil dried up and got colder. Basically I have no idea about this plant just glad I got at least one.

Two have survived so far. I had four sprout but when I went to repot two that were in a jar they died shortly after. I think the roots may be really sensitive to being disturbed. I started another ten but I didn't sterilize well enough so they all got taken out by mold.
The two I have are still really small since I've been too scared to repot them yet.
