Ready for fruiting?
    #21934483 - 07/12/15 05:46 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

My grow room is almost complete. Finished all of the dedicated circuitry and HVAC. Just need to buy a filter to stick in front of the air exchange and hang the light fixtures. I have a 4 inch hydro farm inline fan pulling air from the room. Beside that is a 6 inch opening to allow fresh air inside, equalizing the pressure some.

There's a large tote on the floor full of water and a homemade float which holds six single disc mist maker foggers. I've had the fan + foggers running for 5 hours now to see what happens. The exhaust duct is on opposite side of the room from the humidity tote, to help distribute the wet air evenly. It seems as though a lot of the mist is trapped in the tote and just condensates upon itself. My humidity gauge has not budged past 85% and I'm not sure what to do

I have 2 short logs that have been fully colonized for several days now. I probably need to get them in there ASAP. I also have 4 logs that I thought were dead, but they made a pretty swift revival over the past few days. They smell sweet and the red jelly looking stuff seems to have disappeared. I have another 2 logs which are at maybe 50% colonization. I made them a few days after all of the others, but they are moving dreadfully slow. All of the logs are still very wet. They've retained almost all of the moisture from when they were packed 2 weeks ago.

If your logs are fully colonized, definitely introduce fruiting conditions.

Get a small fan to blow the fog up and out of your tote so it distributes around the room better, rather then just getting stuck in its container.

Poking holes in the bottoms of your straw logs can help excess water escape as they colonize. Also make sure your not packing them to moist from the start.
