Anyone have this that's gotten some sort of diagnosis? I often see tiny balls of light darting around in my vision, its always happened since I was a kid and it doesn't seem to have any trigger. There are usually hundreds and it lasts anywhere from 5 seconds to 5 mins. Also I normally have very low blood pressure (Or I did pre pregnancy)

I looked into this cuz I thought it was a symptom of HPPD
It's just phosphenes as far as I know.

Good work I always assumed they were ghosts..
@chicks, I get that too but it's never been 5 minutes, it's usually just rapid enough to "not see it, but see it"... ghosts.

That was actually a pretty interesting read. Thanks!
Amanita- yeah it's super hard to concentrate when someone is talking to you and balls of light are flying all around them...the 5 min ones always make me look crazy because I want to look at them instead of whoever is around me.

Its always hot where I live so maybe that's what causes it for me. I've been keeping the air on like 68 at home lately because I can't stand the heat. The humidity here makes it feel like you're suffocating and makes it feel like it's ten degrees hotter than it actually is.

It used to happen to me a lot when skateboarding in the sun all day or back when I was working in kitchens all day beside ovens and deep fryers.
Being dehydrated definitely aggravates it. I also noticed it get worse after using dissociatives. Ketamine, MXE, and dxm all made it worse the next day.
I stopped getting it as vividly or as frequent when I started taking piracetam. Although when I take daily piracetam I also make sure and drink at least 2000ml water throughout the day so maybe it was the increased hydration and not the piracetam that helped.

I dont really know of any trigger but now I'm going to pay more attention to hydration and heat. I haven't done anything including weed in quite some time so I know it couldn't be that.

Scheerer's phenomenon is also something to look into. I don't know if it's the same thing or not.
