I give you the choice of 2 pills.

With each containing one of the following:
Cyanide... Psilocin... Would you take the risk?
Didn't think so.

This is why Positive Identification prior to consumption is important.

Cheers. There was blue bruising on the myc at the base of the stipe. No evident bruising on the cap or stem. I will drive down again next chance to find some more specimens and put up some good shots of bruising here. Lot's of small primordia forming on the dung close to that specimen.

I went back for a second look. Unfortunately there wasn't much there to be had. I did find one drying specimen growing from roo dung and a few rotten specimens. Also found some similar mushrooms elsewhere on dung I believe may be psilocybe Coprophila with a red brown cap and brown staining on the stipe. Because I struggled to potograph the blueing at the stipe of the suspected P.Alutacea (Much less pronounced than P.Subaeruginosa) I took home a specimen of suspected P.Coprophila to photograph in the same lighting and compare the differences in the stipe.

P.Coprophila

P.Alutacea

Kangaroo dung? I didn't even know that they had good dung for fungal growth, that's pretty cool! Maybe if you eat some you'll turn into a kangaroo too. :P

They seem to love the roo dung. There's a pasture not far off this patch of eucalyptus scrub but the sheep/cow crap was devoid of any fungal activity. I don't know if eating them will turn me into a roo but finding them in the first place did.

Holy shit. I've been screening roo poo in Central Victoria all season looking for something interesting like this. No luck yet.

Did you get spore prints and save a dried specimen?

Hey Karode13, I now have a few dried specimens saved. Some will be sent off for further study. Haven't printed any of them though. Season's slowing up now so don't know if I'll get out in time to recover more specimens.

Glad to hear you saved some. If you need someone to look at one I'm keen. Yeah, season is slowing now, it's a race to find them before it's over!

The photos are blueshifted, hard to tell if there really is some true blue bruising there...

Photo's were taken indoors with incandescent lighting. Not entirely sure what blue shifted means. Selected a camera mode that worked best. Couple more shots of a specimen I found today. Default camera settings here.

and a very dry specimen.

Specimens will be sent off for study. Will post results back here:thumbup:
