Hi, I'm looking for some resources for mushroom identification.
just wondering what websites are good for for identification of wild magic mushrooms, like something where I enter gill colour, cap shape, bruising colour etc. and can find a list of shrooms that match the description.

I don't know of any sites like you describe... But if you post that information in this forum along with some photos etc people will identify them for you.

that site seems to be good for searching up specific species but i am looking for something like a search engine where i can search mushroom properties and get a list of mushrooms that fit the criteria, not sure if such a thing exists.
i may have to make a post like the other guy said.

Much safer to post it here for ID. This place has really good identifiers from different parts of the world.

Like someone mentioned, Mycokey has all that but it's not specific to "magic" mushrooms. There currently is no site that fits your exact criteria.
Just post here, it's the best online resource for psychoactive mushrooms specifically. Also check out MushroomObserver.org.

Tweakz, if you ever get the time, listen to some lectures by Paul Stamets (there are a few full lectures on Youtube). This might be a bit of hyperbole, but there are few people on Earth who know as much about the active species of mushrooms as he. He personally identified and named several of the active species which are hunted and cultivated today. He wrote one of the most comprehensive field guides that focuses solely on active species of mushrooms: Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World. Though it's become a bit dated over the years, it continues to be a treasured resource for the active-hunting community.

My Italian tour is already arranged for next spring & I'm going to do the whole goddamn trip wearing a bright red field marshal's uniform & accompanied by six speed-freak bodyguards bristling with Mace bombs & when I start talking about American writers & the name Tom Wolfe comes up, by god, you're going to wish you were born a fucking iguana!" - Hunter S. Thompson, 03/03/71 Letter to Tom Wolfe.
