incubating? it'll only fruit when you give it fruiting conditions.

Casing take much longer then a week.. The way my friend goes about it they need the first week left completely covered and alone to restablish the network and grow, then after that week it takes another 7 to 10 days with daily misting and fannings to get them to begin fruting, you probably still have another 4 to 7 days before you see pins.. just my opinion.

When in the incubation period in the beginning they won't fruit until you start fruiting them by allowing much more oxygen to enter it and allow CO2 to exit and make sure they have plenty of humidity, lots of misting, but don't saturate, if they are sitting in water then thats bad..

a week of incubation seems like a good way to get overlay

I had to take my lipa casing out on day 3 and SHOULD have taken it out on day 2!!!!. I just cant see waiting a week, before  putting it in the fruiting chamber.

how do you know when to fruit it? what percentage of the top should be covered in myc?

pretty much all of it should be covered, once it is afoaf usually puts another VERY thin casing layer on top and then puts it in the incubation chamber. If the myc is coming through uneven, you should try to patch case it. in other words just add more casing mix to the spots where its coming through, and none where it isn't.

yep, and don't forget to expose the fully colonized casing to light/clarity
