I found these in dark green grass in front of apartments, in direct sun. Mild smell.Looks like jet black spores. Looks to me like blue brusing on one of them.Maybe Panaeolus olivaceus. Everything helps!!!Thank you!

at least YOU will be convinced perhaps.  i'm just looking at not-so-clear pictures, and you might be lucky and find out you have a mixed collection

Yes, though I think Panaeolina fits pretty well inside Panaeolus and a separate genus is not needed for the rough spored ones.

Nah, those are dark brown, but not jet black.

Thats just the camera i think, i have a friend of mine come over and he says they look black, could be wishful thinking though...

I will be honest(not that it is not obvious) im new to this mushroom hunting game... and I have been having troubles finding cyans or anything else.

They're out of season but you should be able to find some in a few months. Also I'm going to be in humbolt at the end of the month so maybe I'll do some hunting while I'm there too :awehigh:

I figured that they were out of season. anyways could i trip off these? I need to know so i can be really sure, the apartments that  I picked at were taken care of very well. and a buddy of mine told me awhile ago that liberty caps grow where i picked these mushrooms...although he is my friend i didnt believe it contained libery caps but pan foe leads me to believe he is correct just wrong about he specific mushroom.

No.

The ones that you can trip off of look very similar and grow in the same habitat - but they have a thicker, more brittle stem which is more reddish - and the spore prints are jet black, not dark walnut brown.
