that's the part i was referring to. something churns in the pit of my stomach when i see that... do you realize what just happened? dude's already fucked up and then takes no less than a 20mm round and a piece of him goes flying. it's fucked.
then i remember what the Islamic State has done to the surrounding territories. Systematically rounding up troves and troves of innocents and lined them all up and fired round after round into their backs, massacring entire villages.
humans are fucked up yo. can anyone really look themselves in the mirror and say "yeah this whole situation we are dealing with is fine with me" ?
fuck, we could be exploring other galaxies with the money and energy we've spent as a planet on war and destruction.
okay /rant

To play devil's advocate for a second, if I were that guy knowing the reality of the situation I found myself in, and how unlikely it would be that I'd survive for very long if just left there, I would hope someone put me out of my misery whether it be headshot or 30mm explosive round. The alternative is suffering an hours or days long painful death in all probability.
Now that that is out of the way. I kinda doubt most people can just be okay with it. Anyone who claims to be okay with it probably hasn't really devoted any time at all towards thinking about exactly what is going on. When you're not the one taking the life and you can just label them all "scum of the Earth" it's kind of easy to disregard life so easily. There are always going to be those people who have no problem with killing. But most people if they actually sat down to contemplate it all, would probably find it hard to digest.
I wish things weren't this way, I wish we lived in an idealistic world where this type of action was never even nessecary. The fact is we don't and it is. Knowing that, we then have to learn to accept it. If I had my way, we'd be devoting all military funds towards exploration and scientific research. There's another thing people like to hide from, and that's the fact that this planet will not sustain us forever, and the tipping point is coming up a lot sooner than anyone wants to accept or believe. We need to find a more sustainable way to live here, or develop new technology to be able to find new homes. Otherwise all this war in the name of peace won't matter anyways.

USA created ISIS.
ISIS is rolling around in hummers wearing american fatigues and AR-15s that the USA gave them.

that's a poor quote from bill hicks. agreed that the islamic state is probably some product of the united states though, there's even been reports from people over there that the CIA was involved with creating the faction... who knows if any of that is real though

Not really.
That video is from the early stages of the war in Afghanistan iirc. The Taleban would just camp out in the middle of the desert because they didn't anticipate the power of the USAF.
But yeah, I don't think there's anything particularly awesome about taking out Stone Age goat herders with overwhelming firepower from a couple of kilometers away. It's coward shit.

The Hicks pic was one I already had uploaded and it fit here nicely. You'd think it would be a no brainer to wipe out a group that was beheading people and reportedly been infiltrating the states, but there's no way they're getting rid of a perfectly good boogeyman to terrorize the Middle East and plant fear in the minds of the world. Plus it's fun to play with the drones. Hell, we don't even know for sure who it is they're picking off in the videos. It could be anybody.
