A friend didnt put in ziplock after dehydrating.first time. Just a shopping bag. They wound up rehydrating and were fairly spongy. I have them back in the dehydrator. Will this cause loss of potency? Should I be wary of how high to put the dehydrator second time around versus the first?

The longer the fruits are exposed to open air the more the actives will oxidize. That being said, prolonged exposure to air can cause a noticeable decrease in potency.
Best results will be to dry them one time to cracker dry & store in an airtight container out of direct light. Such as a sealed zip-lock bag or other sealed container.

Get a vacuum sealer, my buddy bought one for storing dry fruits and had me come over and seal up a bunch of mine. Thing works like a champ. Went out and bought one the next day.

I had the same thing happen to me before. I dried some mushies overnight and thought they were cracker dry so I stored them away in a mason jar. When i wanted to dose up, I noticed that the stems and cap were a bit squishy. They didn't smell like mold or anything, so I immediately put them back in the dehydrator at a higher temp(95 degrees the first time; 130 the second time) to ensure they got "cracker dry". I also added a ten gram silica packet per mason jar that I used to store them in, to get any leftover moisture out/preserve them for long-term use. Some people say it isn't necessary if they are 100% dry, but I like to be on the safe side.
