Casing 50/50+ 10 days - no pinning

I've taken off the foil off my 50/50+ casing of fully colonized BRF cakes about 10 days ago. Light on and off 12 / 12 ./. good misting and faning.
No pins yet -- they normally start peeking through by now. Any advice?

I had to leave for a few days and put humidifier on for a few cycles the days I was gone. The fan is to give it some fresh air a few times day.
They physically feel pretty moist. If I mist them directly what does not immediately absorb. Should I mist more?
Any chance that I missed out on these?

I'm not really up on SGFCs, but the tops just look a bit bruised to me. But can't really tell well from the pics. I can see the mycelium coming up through your verm. Maybe your fan/humidifier in there is messing up your fresh air exchange/humidity levels.
I would consider getting rid of the fan and humidifier if your back, and just give it some time.

Thanks... turning off both. It also seems that my perlite dries out way too fast, so maybe I need to - re-dunk the perlite.

Yeah they look dry and generally unhealthy. Brf cakes is not good spawn media. They're meant to be fruited as cakes . There might be contams lingering under that dry coir

Any suggestions on how to get anything out of them at this point? I've cased BRF many times in the past usually successfully, so not sure what went wrong with these.

Good idea on the fan and humidifier. The SGFC is designed to take care of both. You can also spray down the top of the perlite really well when it starts to dry out. I have a heavier mist sprayer I use just for that and usually spray the perlite every day or two. Fine mist for cakes themselves...

Well, the slaw ratio in cakes is low. All your nutes come pretty much solely from the brf, which isn't much being that they are mostly verm. So breaking them up to use for spawn Is pointless imo. Just opens the possibility for contams again and thins it out to much. Fruit your cakes as cakes. If not get some oats and coir and make muda bottles Or just get some real bulk spawn up and going

brf is very nutritious.
you should try mixing the sub and spawn OP, instead of just casing. I would turn the tub into a sgfc, they work fine if left alone they just work better if you are there to mist a couple times a day or so.
