I stand by my argument that trans kids should be treated with puberty blockers if their gender identity remains consistent, and that body dysmorphic disorder is different from gender dysphoria in that they respond differently to treatment. I'm not sure if you misunderstood me, or if you continue to misunderstand that gender identity is solidified very early in a person's life and that transition is better started sooner than later.

That thread about transgender children was very difficult for me. It's a very personal issue for me and I contributed a majority of the responses. There was a great volume of people who were presenting their misapprehensions and distortions about trans people as if they were fact and not very many people helping me to correct all of them. I try to do my best but I am not perfect.

i dont continue to misunderstand any aspect of that nor have i ever. i wont further that argument, but yes i do see that a lot of people have some pretty archaic understandings about certain topics that are sensitive to you.

I saw your edit and I appreciate it. It's difficult for me because those understandings aren't archaic at all, they are contemporary, and typical. My parents raised me with many of the myths about trans people that get routinely circulated around here. I had to learn for myself that they were dead wrong about most of what they taught me, and it's been a very long road and difficult experience. And I'm very fortunate, in that my body is taking very well to hormones at a relatively late age, I live in an area that is by-and-large tolerant of my transition, and my parents have continued to embrace their daughter even after so many years thinking she was their son. I'm very privileged. So many other trans people are terribly damaged and deeply ashamed of their history, and it's because most people are ignorant to the point of violence and cruelty.
It takes a lot of work to separate my personal feelings from my arguments but it is very important to me that I do so. I still have a lot to learn.

No shit, because we are all human beings and every human being is different. This is why it is completely fucking retarded to ever identify with any political party. It is absolutely childish and illogical to choose sides like that. Every situation in life is different, and every person should decide their own true opinion on each situation WITHOUT BIAS.
