Damn. Its hard to say. It all comes down to McGregor's take down defense. If he can maintain distance and stifle Mendes' advances then I think he will be successful.

Conor has shown that he is hittable, although I think it's more a case of him not respecting his opponent or their power.
With mendes I think he'll tighten up. But I have NO idea whatsoever who wins this fight. I can see a tko in the fourth by Conor, or chad via 48-47 decision

Good connar needs another fight anyways. But he better win. I don't even know why he has so much hype lol he hasn't done much at all in the UFC but talk shit and beat a few ppl given hes FW so there's not much competition so it's not hard to be the king of FW.

As a fan, I want Connor to win. I like Connor as the FW champion, just like I rooted for Aldo on his rise to the top. It's time for a lead change and mcgregor brings a whole new element to the FW division, plus his trash talking is very good, which i appreciate. It's not quite sonnen (wanderle in bed with the nogera brothers practicing their "ju jitsu") good, but still good. However as a betting man, im taking mendes. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't bet against the wrestler in this fight.

I'm new to this thread but its cool to have my predictions preserved. I train daily and I've called a lot of fights right. I knew OSP would hit that exact uppercut on Patrick Cummins but my buddy boxes with him regularly. Again, I would look for the step off uppercut or a knee. That's how any really good standup guy would deter/stop a wrestler.

Because they are more sophisticated than a standard X-Ray. How serious is a rib fracture like the one suffered by Jose Aldo ahead of UFC 189?
I'm glad he pulled out and I'm looking forward to the 189 just as much as ever. Dude fighting with a broken bone would have completely tainted the PPV. Interim title is silly and meaningless, if you ask me. This isn't a Cain Velasquez situation.

yeah man, that tim kennedy situation was pretty fucked up. kennedy pretty much retired after that. he said hes not coming back, unless its for fights he REALLY wants to take.
n yeah, the interim title is silly as fuck. aldo wont even be out long, but I guess theyre just assuming since him, Weidman, and cain are injured all the time, that this situation may arise in the leadup to his next fight anyway.
its really all about conor. I think they so desperately want to be able to call conor a champion, because hate him or love him, he can end up bringing a looooot more exposure to mma. hes all OVER the place right now.

that and when him and aldo do fight he'll be able to talk even more trash saying he has the interm belt. I think aldo is pissed because connor wasn't tested by a wrestler before getting a title shot. Think about it, as champ everyone gets to see a shitload of your fights, and know all your holes or potential holes, how u react to different situations, then aldo gets dicked because this new kid gets fast tracked

yeah, I hear ya bro.
conor might've been fast tracked, but this is what the division needs right now. im soooo sick of rematches, and the top 5 in featherweight are ALL rematches.
c - jose 1 - mendes 2 - edgar 3 - conor 4 - lamas
aldo has beaten ALL except for conor, so this is the match to make right now. why take out conor with someone like chad or Frankie, and setup anotherrrr rematch that no one wants to see, ya know?

dude, I love McGregor, and he looks completely drained at every weigh in, but he looked TERRIBLE tonight. he looked like a frail old man. granted, hes irish, but he usually has SOME color in his skin. dude looked albino tonight!
conor is the favorite, which I find surprising, but mendes looked good. he seems super confident and I cant wait to see what happens tomorrow!
