How to keep mushrooms fresh for longer?

I'm getting my first ever batch soon, the whole reason why I started growing was because I read so many reports of how dry mushies mess with your stomach. I'm all to familiar with mid-trip nausea, it feels like you're about to die, not the nausea itself but I find that I get more negative thoughts if I'm nauseaous. I have 3 cakes right now and I'm expecting about 40 grams fresh each, so 120 grams. I plan on eating about 25-30 grams in the first few days, if not the same day, but I'm not too big on tripping multiple days so I would want to save the other 90 somehow. Is there any way I can extend the life of these? I keep regular mushrooms in the fridge, but they turn slimey in about a week. I could trip no more then once a week at most. So I would need to store them up for at least a 3 weeks to a month. Can I freeze them?

In my own experience the nausea is more associated with the cleanliness of them. I've had dry eighths that made me feel like my guts were going to explode, but I've also had 5g of ones I grew, where I threw out anything that looked less than desirable, and had ZERO stomach pain, no nausea. I hear tea is viable option to cut back on the bad feels...

I( don't think theres any way you can keep them fresh for three weeks unless you can snap freeze them.

I have noticed that my mushrooms don't cause the nausea I use to notice. It could be that I use a better drying technique. Using a food dehydrator my mushrooms are dry 6 hours after they are picked. This avoids any time for breakdown or anything else from deciding to grow on them. It could also be random chance or a multitude of other factors but drying is the best way to store long term.

I'll second the tea idea.
I used to be just fine eating raw, dry, or cooked mushrooms. As I've gotten older, I've had to switch to making tea. Much much easier on my stomach, plus way more controllable for dosage. (I shred dried mushrooms and mix from different batches so everything is uniform) Making chocolates also seem to help me as well.

Some people's stomachs are simply more sensitive. IME making tea with ginger (which settles the stomach) helps reduce stomach discomfort if not ridding it completely.

I've been thinking of doing a tea of the fresh ones but there's just something to eating fresh mushrooms that adds to the vibe. I decided that I will drink regular tea while eating the mushrooms. I think it should do the same thing. But in general my stomach is not sensitive except when I'm tripping. I know that when I take Lucy if I have anything in my stomach I will have nausea. So I'm really not keen on eating hard mushrooms. However I was wondering if I can make a soup from the dry ones? I know a great recipe for a seaweed soup that involves dry shitake, so I can just replace them with dry cubes right? It's a very light soup that gets digested almost right away anyways.

The point with tea IMO tho is that you don't have to consume the solids of the fruit. The alkaloids are soluble in hot water so there's really a negligible amount still remaining in fruits anyway.
I've never noticed a difference in the "vibe" of the trip either way tho
The soup might work for you if it's a light soup. Most people just try not too have too much in their stomach so it can focus on digesting that alone rather that tryina digest food at the same time.

The other advantage of tea is that it speeds absorption. I can eat shrooms like cheetos no problem but I still make tea to reduce the delay. When I make tea I don't strain the mushrooms out though. I just take big gulps after the tea has cooled to just warm and you don't even notice the pieces.

I find tea and eating the mushies directly to be a different experience. Both are great, but it just feels different to me. I love making tea though. I usually make up about a pitchers worth and I get it so the potency is good enough for 1 cup to do the trick. The best part about the tea is if you drink it hot it barely has any taste. Which is good for those people who can't stomach downing the whole shrooms

I have NEVER had nausea on mushrooms. fresh. dry. frozen. tea. up your ass. No nausea. Never quite saw how people even dislike the taste. It tastes like.......A MUSHROOM
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeze-drying
Only way to preserve them at their peak. Otherwise dry like normal
I have had success subliming a piece of dry ice in the bottom of an air tight jar, but it's a delicate process.

Different strokes. One thing I learned after much trial and error, its easier to eat them a couple at a time than it is to shove the whole dose in your mouth and start chewing. But to get back on topic, you want them to stay fresh, pop them in a container, pop it in the fridge... Won't prolong it too much and they'll start to get growdy.

freeze dry mushrooms? That's interesting but has it been tried? Like it's not going to lose potency or anything?
@SteveRogers, yea I don't mind the taste at all, I love cooking, and have a bunch of different dry mushrooms around the house, they taste amazing to me even dry. I'm more worried that the actual texture of it will irritate the stomach, it seems to be what's causing the nausea in most people.
I'm probably going to dry them out and make tea later, I just wanted to know if there is some vodooo process to keep them alive lel

You know I tend to get gassy, so plugging has never been it for me. I could give up cheese and other dairy I suppose but it just doesn't seem worth it.
I've kinda noticed that plugging seems to be an obsession of the younger kids these days. I've been in IRC where the constant question is "Can I plug it?"
I'm not one to try to double my money so I give them the same advice every time. "Drugs go in your mouth. Once they kick in, then stick stuff in the booty"

Nausea will not be reduced by eating fresh. Ginger tea and strain out the flesh to lower nausea. Lots of bs in this thread. Probably from it not being an actual cultivation topic.
