Are these P. Subsectoids (NZ lower ni.) [Edit - New Id Request inside]
    #21925817 - 07/10/15 07:24 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Found these the other day. I only have experience with p. Subs and p. Weroa but these reminded me alot of the Subsectoids (if that's what they're still called) I have seen on here.
Growing on white wood mulch. Under some weeds

White black flecked stems. Caps same colour as subs to white. Almost completely enclosed caps. Bruised purple. Was unable to get a visible spore print unfortunately.

My mate has some he picked from the same patch that he swears bruised but then the bruising disappeared over night and they went basically white. These ones iv got have gone the same colour i'm used to from p. subs. I suspect there is 2 different species growing in the same space. Apologies for the incomplete information but I thought I'd chuck it up anyway just to get some opinions.

~EDIT~

Went back to the same spot again today. Can anyone confirm that these are all the same. Some of them are massive (almost 40mm diameter and they seem to grow in clumps. Found a couple of P. weroa in amongst them and I have found subs nearby as well which would seem to support the cross breed theory.

Some of them appear different (whiter) but they are also drier than the others so I suspect that is the difference.
