Those are good
thats not what pastywhyte told me!!

I have always said to never use agar with sugar added. Hell I don't even trust premixed lab grade

Started them in a shot glass filled with distilled about a week ago... then once they cracked, transplant'd to the rockwool cubes;which were soaked in 5.5 ph adjusted water for 2hrs.. While soaking I prep'd a nutrient solution of fox farm veg at 500ppm then adjusted the ph to 6.0.
I then poured off the 5.5 rockwool soak water and replaced with the 6.0 ph nutrient solution.
Shake off excess water without squeezing the rockwool, then plant seeds (taproot pointed down) & cover with alil of the rockwool fibers to prevent light from hitting the roots.

Starting my first grains today- WBS. I didn't see the brand that had been recommended, this one was 40 cents an ounce- did I pay too much?

I will be starting another grain soon too, probably rye berries or oats, depending on what the local feed store has.
"But all I've seen from you is an SGFC- whatever are you going to spawn it to?"
I'm glad you asked. This thing is huge and I'm turning it into a mono (question: this is longer than most I see, should I drill more holes?). Bought two, going to make one an SAB (my other one was too small.

I don't even throw them in the dehydrator, if too big cut them smaller and hang them to dry

Muda, can I get a link to those oat's where you had the first comment on them?
They had a place by me and I am tired of dealing with the WBS prices, time to move on

Ya I like to dice mine up with a real sharp knife I have. I've made tea with them fresh, but I find the resulting brew to be WAY too bitter to actually enjoy, even mixed with honey or sugar. After they're dry it's not so bitter though. Anyway I've been meaning to give them a go myself, but there is so much that grows here I can just find it when I want it. I'll probably still do it though, purely for the beauty of it.

Nice, my alcohol extract is finished, now I need to do the water extract.
I could only fit half as much in my quart jars as Forester. 50 grams in a wide mouth to be 3/4+ full with alcohol. Not sure why.

$6.40 a lb? I bought a 20 lb bag at Walmart for like $10.

I just moved to oats. $12 for like 50 lbs. It's also been easier to work with. Less mess, easier to hydrate.
