How do you delete the Temporary internet files\content.IE5\*
Whenever I run a virus check or disk defrag or whatever this folder takes an hour or so to go through can I just delete it before hand? It's hard enough to gain access to and when I do it usually says something is in use and won't delete anyways.

Thanks - @cro

If you go to tool > internet options youll see temporary internet files in the middle there. click delete files. You can also set the limit on how much space is used to store temp inet files there.

what OS?

If Its Win9x/WinME, use a boot disk, rename the "temporary internet folders" directory to something else, boot back into windows and delete it.

If its WinNT/2k/XP, log in as a different user with administrator priviledges and delete the "Temporary internet folders" directory for other users. You can't delete the folder for the account you're using because it'll be in use.

I think he just want to speed up virus scanning. Deleting through IE will get 99% of them and more if you go to internet option through control panel.

Thanks, I think I was trying to make it way more difficult than it needed to be.

Peace - @cro
