Looks like it might have some bacteria contamination. Unless it has dried out at some point along the line.

It will probably still fruit though.

I'd rather see some yellow vs. green if I had to choose...

I think it will probably be okay.

If it's prior to the first flush I wouldn't dunk it.  Mist it with a spray bottle if it looks dry and adjust FAE if it's drying out around any air holes in particular.  You can also case and/or use deeper substrates to help with tubs drying out.

After the first flush you can dunk it.  There's lots of information on dunking bulk tubs on the forums.  If you do a search you should be able to find something that will work with your setup.

Iam having the same problem with one of my small tub...after 1st flush i misted heavily as i didnt want to dunk and then it has alot of yellow spots.
and this tub used to dry out alot because it was only 2 quart jars spawned to bulk ratio 1:2.

Just noticed some of my mycelium turning yellow on my substrate today. Is this normal?
Also adding a photo of a baby mushie that has some black specks on it.
Just wanna know if everything is okay or if action needs taken. Thanks!

Same thing has happened to me once when I had coir/verm substrates.  Metabolites started to show up on the surface during the last few days of colonization and then even more during the first week of fruiting.

The room temp during colonization got to 80 degrees at some points.

After the first flush the metabolites dried up and left the yellowing just like in your pictures.

For me it was a combination of the substrate fighting off a bacteria and then i believe it was dehydration of the substrate.

When you pick up your substrate, does it feel like it needs more water?

A heavy mist should work if it feels light and/or appears dry on the surface...

You can also dunk by filling with water, letting it soak for 10-20 minutes, then pour off all of the water and fan the fuck out of it.....

I have dunked bulks prior to 1st flush a couple times when a thin substrate dried out during colonization.
