The one time I PC'ed jars twice the rye berries all came out darker and seemed to have slightly less moisture (from what I could tell visually).
I dont remmeber there being any problems from them after dropping agar wedges in later on.
Now... when things don;t go as plan I usually just start over, and learn from the situation. Way too much work and time goes into this hobby to have something go wrong down the line.

I'm still contemplating starting over, but I figured I'd see how it looks first. I am using MS syringes so I will probably just take the extra day and do it over or do it right and order some SFD's. I don't want to wait a month to find out.

I pc twice. I used to grow cubes, about 5 or 6 years ago, with just one go in the pc, for an hour. All went well until I got a new pc. Then, with my new and bigger pc, I started getting contaminations. Problem seemed to be that the extra volumn of the new pc overwhelmed the capacity of my little hotplate--I could not use the stove in the house where I was living at the time-- to tget it hot enough to really do a job on the bad guys. My old pc was smaller and just more efficient. Thus I learned to pc twice. I never had a polyfill filter melt on me, however. You either have a really hot stove top, or a pc that holds a lot of heat.Or maybe the brand of polyfill is the culprit in this case. I get mine from Michaels--a chain hobby store.

Ive done it before and it came out ok.. just check moisture content burnt grains split kernals etc

I like kraft felt, micheals sells a roll of good felt cheap.. a double layer between lid and band like this. Much easier than polyfill

Looks good. I have used tyvek in a set up like that but never thought of felt. I will give it a try. Thanks for the tip.
