Sad day for my monotub

So I just checked on my monotub. This is my very first full sized tub. I saw a green spot and now I'm lost for words.

I'm not sure what I should do with it. I did a sniff test on all of my spawn jars and they passed. I also pasteurized my substrate following Frank's guide and used c/v/g. Should I toss it? Can I saw off the non green part and put that in my mini monotub. Ugh this sucks balls because I was really looking forward to this one.

Is the green spot you are seeing directly in the middle? It is hard for me to see anything truly green in that picture.

Ouch man...
If you really dont wanna chuck it, you could spray the spot down heavy with water, take an inverted ziplock bag and scoop out a gratuitous chunk out of the sub and see if it recovers...
no other projects going?

Yes, it's small but directly in the middle of the picture.

I have some other spawn colonizing but I was wanting this to be my last grow for a while.

Yup, I see it now. If you can, take it outside and bury it in the ground under a bush in the shade.

Yep thats trich in the middle. The tub itself doesn't look fully colonized. Not sure if you should risk opening it to take pics in those situations. I dont think cvg has the same defenses as horse poo or what not.
A contamination that early is usually a death sentence for the tub. But you could try a couple things to delay the damage, perhaps long enough to get a flush. When I spot it really early like that, I've had decent results just scooping the spot out with a spoon and then spraying the crater with a bleach solution. Nothing grew in the crater for two weeks, long enough for the sub to pin. It eventually recontaminated, but I bought enough time that way. I've also had decent results capping the contamination with a jar. Make sure you cover an extra inch or two around the spot and then press the rim of the jar to the bottom of the tub, locking the contamination in for about a week.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I'll try out the jar method. I feel as though something may have went wrong during pasteurization. I have noticed this tub has taken much longer to colonize than my first mini mono did. I just don't want to ruin future grows but I feel like I already have.
Edit: Upon further inspection after deciding to try out the jar method, I noticed other suspicious looking areas which I assume are trich which haven't turned green yet. Although it breaks my heart to see it go, I tossed the entire tub away. I assume I can save the tub. I'm bleaching it right now.
I think I'll go curl myself up into the fetal position and have a good cry. As you all say, "Better luck next time."

Did you toss it outside? You could still see fruits outside . That's shitty about the trich. High temperature/over cooking during pasteurization, overly wet sub, and as well as bad spawn will all cause that. Better luck next time

She still won't see it. The ignore function strips out nested quotes.

Couldn't handle being told what was right. Assumed it was being negative and condescending. Pretty typical, and not shocked it happened to you in this thread haha

Seriously anyone who does this enough will see contamination. Anyone who does it a lot will see at least one big meltdown. The trick is to keeo your head on, figure out the vector, and get back on the horse.
Of course new people are crushed when their grow fails amd are hurt by how easy the vets tell em to pitch it. But in this game you can learn from failure or you can be beaten by it.
