Mycelium overlayed the casing layer, what might help?
    #21914108 - 07/08/15 09:20 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

I removed the tin foil to late now the mycelium keeps on growing instead of fruiting, and im afraid that it might dry out.
Didnt had such a situation before, what can i do in order to make them fruiting? Putting new sterilized substrate on the top?

It isn't overlay,  but it could be contaminated.

Is that a casing layer on top?
How long have they been in the FC?

i still dont klnow exactly about the tek,
its the only one i always used, vermicullite on the ground,
spawn and then the layer,
cactus soil mixed with vermicullite, always had good results.
Why do you think it might be contaminated?
my camera aint got the best quality but i can assure you its only white and blue.
i left them 3 days in tin foil after i put the sterilized substrate on the top,
and always patched the upcoming mycelium until it was even, then i removed it.
These tek might be to old already but thats the way i learned it in the past, and always had good results.

Why do I think it might be contaminated?

Well because it looks like Trich before it sporelates.

How long have they been in the FC?

5 days isn't that long.  Give it a good misting and some more fresh air.  Either it will pin or explode into a green mess.

I'd revisit the TEK and consider changing it. your FC looks really weird and the verm-spawn-casing layering sounds weird to me too. almost like those who put dry verm in grain jars..
