Diphenhydramine Questions

This probably goes in PsychEx but I specifically want to avoid tripping. So I've been taking 100mg of benadryl for sleep (Insomniac and I just recently got the money I need to buy more pot), anyways, I took 100mg tonight but I'm still not sleepy (possibly due to tolerance but I also take adderall daily and accidentally drank something I didn't realize had caffeine with dinner). Should I take some more to sleep, I dont think I'll be able to sleep otherwise and the only other sleep agent I have on hand is Trazodone...but I dont want to mix sleeping pills. Aslo I've been having really vivid, weird dreams every night I take benedryl, is dph known to potentiate dreams?

Yes it is, actually IME, almost every pill that makes me fall asleep, causes terrible dreams, even sleep paralyses

Stuff is addictive. Stay away from it and sleep naturally.
--------------------
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Naturally I don't sleep....that's how insomnia works...and benedryl is diphenhydramine which isn't addictive, did you think I meant benzodiazepines like Xanax or Ativan?

DPH is addictive. You will not be able to sleep if you use it for to long and try sleeping without it. Also If you use to much to try and get to sleep it can give you severe restless leg syndrome, among other unwanted side effects.

Diphenhydramine can be addictive, it just takes longer for a degree ov physical dependency to occur. I've heard reports ov people experiencing withdrawal symptoms similar to a mild form ov sludge syndrome, with dramatic salivation and sweating, nausea, etc.. Diph is also a mild sri, which may bring about emotional turmoil upon cessation after long term usage.
With diph, i found that there's a ground between the sedation dosage and the tropania dosage that's uncomfortable, but a cognizant pre-delirium state. This state for me was opposing to sedation in that it was characterized by RLS and a very unsettling 'brain zap' sensation that came about every so often. An uncomfortable and dysphoric state, but at least one still has hir wits about.
I'm in a similar insomniac boat since my departure from alcohol consumption, and have been taking the antihistamine doxylamine 4-5 nights a week or so, either orally or nasally(almost 3x as potent nasally with a much quicker onset). The other times i'll attain slumber from kava/cannabis and/or sheer exhaustion. But one's method ov snatching ZZZs is individually dependent. I know that sounds, melatonin, root ov valerian, and trying to just fall asleep naturally usually are'nt going to work for me but others have had success. It is a bit concerning to have to rely upon a substance to sleep though. How long before its sedative effects dissipate?
How is trazodone BTW? I was offered that in detox to help with sleep but i declined. Everyone there who was using it said the same exact thing though: It worked great if you went to bed shortly after taking it, but if you waited too long to attempt sleep it yielded RLS and general restless energy. Is your experience similar?

Some people's insomnia doesn't work like that. I remember back in February-March when mine was really bad I would always play that rainymood site and I'd still only get like an hour of sleep per night. Benadryl, melatonin etc didn't even help for shit.

2mg haldol 2-3 hours before bedtime.
Been using that for 27 years and hasnt failed me yet. Its a low dose of a heavy drug. (a typical antipsychotic)

Haldol did fuck all for me for sleep when I was on it but Olanzpine was great (only for sleep). Knocked me out HARDCORE.

Seriously? How much Haldol did you get? It may take 3 hours to develop but Haldol is great for applying a mental brake.

I agree fully with the statement stay away from that shit.. mother earth knows what you need. a little cannabis high in cbd and some chamomile and fresh air, I know lots of people who can't sleep in still air. maybe that's your problem.. I just don't like the sound of long term pharmaceutical sleep aid... my aunt took nyquil daily for like 6 months and she started becoming psychotic and being really crabby and having hallucinations... she was convinced that the TV was talking too her.. not the people on tv, not the show, but the tv itself.. that kind of shit worries me. just be careful

I was on the max daily dose for Haldol. I can't remember what that number is though.

DPH is a shit sleeping aid. It does increase dreaming though. The minimum dose to achieve a high is 250mg imo. So don't dose more than 150mg for sleep aid. But it's not something I'd take every night.
