How mushrooms survive contamination in the wild?
    #21912269 - 07/07/15 10:18 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

It's known that simple bacterial contamination can ruin artificial substrate. But I wonder how naturally cubensis are able to grow in cow dung where are all sorts of contaminants and fully mature?

its a more complicated answer than that,

but that covers a lot of it.

some things are really more likely in shelters tho.

and then in the wild contaminants have things that eat/kill them...

but if there were none the flushes would be bigger...and more robust, and less manky...

like indoor grown fungi.

Yeah it still gets what it can out. Even sparse mushrooms just grow bigger. This is why lots of us prefer bigger fruits over smaller ones. Less to pick and the same weight.
