Job and Career choices.

Not sure if this should be in another forum or what.
Anyway, I work in construction, but have an accounting degree. I have been a foreman (field supervisor) for a crew for about a year now. Work is good, and I'd do anything for my brothers on my crew. We were bought by a hedge fund about 2 years ago and they have been squeezing out benefits and job perks regularly. We have a large contract and have work for at least this year and probably well into next year, but the price of oil is tied to our work so we haven't been doing as great as last year.
I put out some resumes last month and got a bite for an offer at another company for a management position. This company has a lot of reject supervisors that have been fired from other companies including my current one. This prospective's company reputation is somewhat on the fence, but I have been promised good things. It is very easy to oversell and under deliver though. This office position would require a move to another city with a less favourable climate.
Basically the choice is to stick with what I know and good wage and unpredictable schedule and go for days off in a city I love, or move and have a regular 9-5 with a chance at much bigger profit sharing and more upwards mobility, but its a new city and much more uncertainty.
Both companies are talking trash about each other and I'm somewhat stuck in the middle and wish I never opened this bag of worms. I don't think I've ever had to make such a grown-up decision before where both choices have real benefits and drawbacks and there isn't a simple 'right' answer.

I turned down the job. Didn't like the reputation of the supervisors at the new company, nor the climate of new town. I am not unhappy at my current job so I reasoned that the risk was likely not worth it.

Looks like some solid reasoning. Congrats on being a hot commodity.
