These are oysters, right?
    #21909389 - 07/07/15 11:53 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Found these this weekend:

Richmond, VA, growing about 6' up out of the side of a maple(?) tree in a parking lot. White gills and spores, a tinge of yellow on the top of the caps.  No stems, typical "oyster shape".

I believe the only mushrooms we have in this area like this are oysters...right?

Yep. They smell like anise. I always think of pizzelles when I smell them.

Yep very fragrant.  So would these be p. Ostreatus?

I'd imagine these are Pleurotus pulmonarius, but they all taste the pretty much the same to me. I like to really cook them down until they start to brown. Takes a good while, but I think it's worth it.
