Hericium americanum fruiting brown? Colony also fought off trich contam - dangerous?

So I've been waiting for this Hericium to fruit for about 6 weeks now. It was obtained from a reputable vendor. I saw the first signs of fruit yesterday, and this photo is from this evening. I was expecting white or cream, but not this clay color. As you can see it is getting a bit of late afternoon sun exposure - could that be what is causing the color? Or is it something else?
More info: This basket fought off a moderate trich contamination near the top of the bag. Would this affect edibility or the color?

Update: The americanum continued to grow - I picked the larger one at about 19oz.

But I still don't know why it was brown/salmon colored.
Anyone?

My Hericium erinaceus started of pink and whitened with maturity. Possibly that is what you are seeing. Looks kind of more pink than brown to me.

H.americanum gets brown when it stops growing for whatever reason. H.erinaceus turns yellow when it quits growing. All that means is that some environmental factor made it quit growing (too much humidity, too much direct sunlight, too hot) and then you waited too long to pick it after it turned decrepit. It's still edible. Just taste. That is the question.

I added another photo the original post, and would love to know if anyone wants to weigh in on the color.

Looks good. It should start turning white as it continues to mature.

I contacted the spawn vendor about the pink/brown color. The attributed the color to extra high humidity in the fruiting stage. I concur that humidity (outdoor grow) was in the 90s for the duration. They said that their lion's mane does the same thing under those conditions.
