Hi
I am ready for Grain Inoculation. I have identified the following sectors on the plates that are possible candidates for Grain Inoculation. I think i have enough grain for 7 QT Mason Jars. Can you please advise which are the best sectors i should use for Grain Inoculation?

Cheers Mystic

some of those plates look dirty, and they are all overgrown so its hard to see what grows where. the obviously contamed ones I'd take a transfer to or just throw away since you have better looking plates.
plate on pic 3 is the only one that looks somewhat clean, but even that shows some green on the bottom right?

Hi
The green is the food color in agar.

hmm, food color in my agar never makes the plates look like that. either way its way too overgrown for me to tell whats going on
between the 3 and 4 numbers you drew on your 2nd plate and most of your 3rd plate looks clean tho.
take another transfer and see what grows..

1-2" by 1-2". I usually cut pizza slices tho. try to avoid the center of the plate and the edges but I normally do transfers before the myc has reached the walls and starts growing on them..

It would be much more clear if you transfer again so you can distinguish contams from mycelium.

The problem is, I am already ready with the grains. I wish to give this a try. If it fails, i wish to start fresh with new spores. ..
Have waited almost 2 months to reach this stage ..Just want to see some fruits now.. hopefully ..
