Just reading through the books by Rush Wayne, wondering if these culture methods work with cubbies.

Elaborate on BBM/LBBM. Are you referring to "Bold's Basal Medium?" used for algae culturing?
MEA or PDA agar work well for many here.

Oh, sorry, the BB is for Beer-Based. Supposedly it works very well for some mushroom species but I don't know about cubs.

which BBM are you using? universal beer agar will grow mold just fine.
LBBM = liquid beer based media. usually for propagation of yeast in small amounts less than 20L
some really old ways of saying what we say now days.
We use beer agar or beer broth. just like you have YPD agar or YPD broth.
broth just means no agar so you can use it as a LC

I was thinking of the agar recipe but I want to grow cubensis mycelium, not mold!
After my experiences years ago and reading recent threads I doubt I'll be trying to make liquid inoculate anymore. I might give it a shot once I build a proper flow hood and get my agar work down. But, if it worked for someone here as LC it should be adequately nutritive as agar.

Well, back when I was taught taxonomy years ago molds were lumped in as fungi. There has been a lot of change in taxonomy in the last few decades but far as I can tell, no one considers molds and fungi to be in the same taxonomical classification any more.
But, thanks, you answered my question

Fungi can be either yeast or mold or somewhat of both like c.albicans.
Molds are mycelium Yeasts are individual units Both fall under fungi

Perhaps. It does fit the definition of mold on my computer. All the various attempts at updating taxonomy are confusing!

Fungi is the kingdom. All fungi is either mold or yeast of a bit of both. All molds are fungi all yeast are fungi.
Anything with mycelium is mold.
