I spawned 2 qts to this 16 qt. tub about 4 days ago. substrate is coir/verm w/ gypsum. Im probably being too critical here but it looks like the mycelium thats running through the substrate is thin and wispy? mabye its fine what do you guys think?

How many quarts of substrate did you use? It looks to be almost completely colonized. For 4 days, that's super fast growth! I would let it consolidate for another 3 days then check the progress. If you don't see any exposed coir, then fruit it!

Cool just wanted to be sure! Not sure exactly how many quarts of substrate I used but i did fill the 16 qt. tub a little more than halfway so i would say about 10ish. I will update!

That's really encouraging to hear! I really hope i can get some mushrooms this time, Ive literally been trying to grow for a year and a half now, all projects have failed. The only time I've ever gotten any mushrooms is if i throw a block of mycelium under some plants outside

WOW. I have to applaud your effort. That is persistence.
Maybe describe the problems you have had and we could help you cut down on the contamination rate. A year and a half is insane to grow Cubensis. I have fruited cakes on my kitchen table as a center piece just for shits....

I think my first mistake would be skipping pf tek completely and going straight to grain spawn and bulk growing. Most of my bulk grows have failed due to wrong moisture content and subpar fruiting environments i think. Im planning on fruiting this tray is this greenhouse I threw together. Its been a pain in the ass to dial in though not gonna lie

Well it certainly looks like you just need to follow a tek and stop trying new things without a success full grow. I don't see any holes on your tub and I'm not sure why you're using a green house. Personally I feel green houses are something you do after mastering sgfc and monotubs.
Til this day I've not done pf tek. So I can guarantee that isn't the problem. Try working on your spawn and inoculation procedure(agar saved my ass). Also keep in mind there's tons of threads on substrate made too wet. Not really any for the most part on substrate too dry.
Low spawn ratios to start is good too.

I wish I would have skipped pf personally. Grain is so much more efficient it seems. You just have to be more meticulous. Are you using agar?

Nah not yet! I wanted too but it seemed so advanced to me I just made a SAB for G2G so ill get into agar soon. What are some advantages of agar other than isolating strains? any good teks?

PastyWhite's Easy Agar Tek- though I cannot attest to it myself yet, it is an incredible write up and is what I will be following come Friday.
