Reptile Fogger?
    #21902059 - 07/05/15 05:40 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Ive got a reptile fogger hooked up to my SGFC. Ive got perlite on bottom and tin loaf trays full of sub inside. Theres a plethora of knots and even some baby pins. Should I keep turning on the fogger to keep humidity at 100% and fanning out? I usually do it every 2-3 hours. But since they're getting ready to fruit, I don't want to mess anything up.

So, keep doing what I'm doing? or cease use of fogger?

In all honesty I tried using fogger in the past and it just caused me problems simple spray bottle 4-6 times a day as needed and fanning with the lid works fine. The SGFC was designed for simplicity if you want an automated system check out the Martha. Hope that helps

what kind of issues did the fogger bring about? So far I have extremely healthy mycelium and they've been in the SGFC for about 3 days now. Did it oversaturate?

Foggers are a pita. They can work well but not with a SGFC. It will.take a long time to dial in as well. As already mentioned mist and fan FTW.

Why do new posters use the tek icon when the thread isn't a tek? Giving false presumptions isn't the best way to get your thread noticed, well worded and intersting titles do.

It was a question about what I'm doing or the 'tek' I'm using. So i figured that the 'tek' symbol mixed with a brief summary of my question gave a clear overview of the contents of this thread.

lately I've been experiencing a contam that is orangeish-yellowish in color. ill assume its from the fogger, but I've never seen it before, any ideas??

also there was some exposed verm in spots that grew what seemed to be a little stringy mold with black balls on them. it hasn't spread at all, its just on the verm. any idea on what this might be?

which one? the yellow color or the little black balls on the end of strings? they're like really small and thin.

Guess

The little black balls. Pics help of course but its a pretty distinct mold. The yellow could be simple metabolites but without a pic I can't say shit.

Well get it outside asap. Try not to disturb the balls as that is clusters of trillons of spores.

by outside do you mean throw it out? the rest of the sub is very healthy looking except a small area of yellow on the edge and the pin mold on some little verm rocks that are sticking out of the sub. the pin mold has been there for a few days.

Just get it out of your house... in or out of the tub. It doesn't matter. I live in zone 2 and get outside fruits.
