Antibiotic in LC

Ok I have some LC jars which may be infected with bacteria I am in my village atm and I have only one antibiotic here its called cefprozil its wide spectrum antibiotic which affects gram + and - except anaerobic bacteria i have it in pill form each pill contains 500mg so i am thinking of making a jar with injection port lid then sterilizing it in PC then I'll put the pill in the jar in SAB under sterile conditions and inject into each of my 250 ml LC jars antibiotic suspension with 25mg of cefprozil in it.So will this work ? Will it damage the mycelia? Any advises ? I dont have access to agar to isolate so dont tell me about it. I Read about lowering the PH of the LC to get rid of the bacteria can i do it by adding some kind of fertilizer?

i had good luck cleaning a lc with 35% hydrogen peroxide as an expirament. it seems like the mold died and the mycelium lived. hydrogen peroxide will likely kill the bacteria at lower percentages.
i would make an agar jar (see my sig)... then get the highest percentage hydrogen peroxide you can find ... preferably 35% food grade (you can order it)...
put a few drops on agar, wait for both to grow... and hit it with about 6cc's of HP 35%
if your results are like mine, the mycellium will recover in a couple weeks its a weak comeback, but it does come back.
the antibiotics would probably work, and you can do a side by side test if you can find the HP 35%
-------------------- ->$10 FLOW HOOD ALTERNATIVE <- . i cleaned a mold contaminated live culture and saved it. (might have useful applications)
Enlil said: I'd be the guy with thousands of minions doing my bidding and all of the hot women locked in a cage for my use.
I tested one of the LCs before and from 4 trays and 4 jars the 4 jars were contaminated with bacteria and 1 of the trays too I've never had mold so if there is anything in the LCs there is only bacteria

I have HP 3% can I add 1-2cc of it in each LC I read it is bad... Also should I use this antibiotic the way I mentioned earlier and if use one of the methods or both how long will it require for the myc in the LC to recover so I can hit grains with it ?

Antibiotic in LC is pointless. It would need to be gentamiacin, nothing else would survive the PC cycle. But why? Use a clean inoculate to begin with and no worries. Use proper sterile methods and be happy. The cost of gentamiacin is not cheap. Agar is. Save money and have peace of mind.
Also hydrogen peroxide will break down in the PC very fast becoming water. If you added it after (a bad idea) it would break down simply from the light getting through the jar. Peroxide is pretty much useless in this hobby (except to treat very rare cobweb outbreaks).

Can't i just put the antibiotic in sterile water ? I'll take the pill out of the blister wipe it with alcohol and put it in the jar with PCed water this will be done in SAB.Also should I PC vinegar and add it to the LC to reduce pH ?

Um alcohol is not sterile. That will be a disaster. Trying to sterilize media after the fact is like closing the barn after the horses have bolted. Do a proper PC cycle to sterilze your media and inoculate it with a clean culture. Anything else is just a crapshoot that can and will bite you in the ass.
Also vinegar is acidic. Molds love a low PH. Just do things properly and enjoy success. Or cut corners and enjoy mold and bacteria. Its up to you.

Well by looks all my LCs look healthy I just wanted to add something to make shure there is no bacteria inside I'll just knock jars with different LCs and find out which are ok and which not then I'll add the antibiotic if needed. If I get gentamicin ampules how much do I have to add per jar of LC they are 250ml each and how long will it take to kill the bacteria ? And is there a recipe for agar without containing agar cuz I can't find it anywhere. And can i use jars instead of Pettis i know it won't be 2d but i bought some it took them ages to come and i didn't know that when i open them they get dirty and i opened the pack just to see them xDDD....

Antibiotics do not always kill the bacteria. Often they only prevent further growth. Once the bacteria finds a new food source it takes off. Adding antibiotics after the fact is not only going to be a major contam vector, it might not even do anything. If an LC is contamed you throw it out. There is no saving it.
This hobby for the most part is not forgiving. There are no mulligans. If you fucked up, you start over. Only agar can allow you to save a culture. Even then its not always easy, better to do it right the first time.
