Hi there. This is my first post on here.. I'm looking for some help regarding my little Peyote cactus.
I have had it for about a month after being given him as a birthday present. It is about an inch and a half in diameter and is not looking so good I don't think
It is kind of wrinkly around the lower edges and on one edge is a little brown. I'm not currently sure if it is rotten or not as I have poked it and the skin has not come loose or peeled off in any way. I thought it may have been ov

In the pot with the 3 1.5cm lophs I had this a similar issue, the little guys looked brownish and wrinkled
I'm no expert, I grow as a hobby, so any advice you get may help me as well, my little guys could be doing better, the ceaspitose and big loph are doing great, but my little guys could be looking better.

They need more light and a complete mineral soil.

Thank you,
Ive got them with a hydrofarm box with 8 24w fluorescent bulbs on them (which I was using for veg. Marijuana plants, so I know its not all that bright) I also have them /n partial sun, but its a south facing window, so during summer months it does not get very good sun.
Ive been needing to improve my light set-up.
As for soil, I know I need to change it, but I'm affraid of breaking the cacti in the process, the long carrot-like roots seem like they would be difficult to remove from the soil with out damaging them....but yeah, I know it needs to be done.
Thankyou again,

I'm no expert but to replant a loph is easy, up root them gently, you can use a spoon to get under them if you wish and I gently sweep the soil off the roots and replant into a dry mix and with hold water for 2 weeks to give any root damage time to heal. I was scared to replant my little guys but its pretty simple

they are etiolated from the lack of light, give them some good ole sunlight here and there, and lose the organic matter.

Yeah, damn home-depot cacti and succulent soil is full of sticks and things, but still drains quick, I've found that if you mix in your own perlite it helps....
I have to repot my lophs and a few of my trichs...it's a hassle and I'm constantly afraid of damaging my cacti...
I can't get good Sun this time of year, I only have south facing Windows available, so i use the T-4 box, which isn't enough, it's 8 24W T-4 bulbs, but they were meant for veg. Cannabis and don't seem to cut it for lophs...
