A time far into the future we will have the English language to thank
    #21896744 - 07/04/15 01:30 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

How come? All 80%-100% English speaking countries will merge and form one new nation.

you heard it here 1st, folks!

And we'd owe it all to the growth of English!

Then English-speaking people will finally have more of the world to travel into and/or reside. Wouldn't that be grand?

Or do you believe the reality of such is far-fetched?

Its more likely that we will figure out how to use telepathy to communicate before all the english speakers unite

Sounds like a shitty future.

I wouldn't enjoy that.

Would. I know no other language. I think I'd like to learn Spanish or French, but more likely wont get the chance to in this life time.

I forgot! I have been to Canada before on a school trip back when I was in some  private school long, long ago.

Try to pick up some basic spanish. It's not that hard to learn enough words and phrases to get around. That'll be good for a huge percentage of the world. Also, in a lot of countries especially in europe you'll be fine with just english actually, but learning a handful of words and phrases takes very little time, makes it easier and people appreciate the effort. Go outside your comfort zone, travel somewhere; the risk of food poisoning is somewhat overstated.
